I have only bought the SS or SBSS since my S0 for the aesthetics and sapphire screen. This year I went with natural Titanium Edition.
I agree. Get the one you like.I don't have gold but from what I'm reading here it appears that gold is less prone to micro scratches than silver ss. The clear advantage of silver ss is they can be buffed out with a Cape Cod Cloth. You would not want to do that to Gold or even Black stainless watches.
In summary, the order of finish durability of Stainless seems to be:
1. Black2. Gold3. Stainless
Pick one you like and go for it. Use common sense when wearing it and enjoy. Before I wore an Apple Watch, I always wore traditional stainless watches that undoubtedly got pretty banged up with scratches and never used a Cape Cod cloth to buff them out.

I received the Silver S4 yesterday on that BB deal and am preparing my S3 SS for sale. I used the Cape Cod cloth on it and buffed it out, and to my surprise, All the scratches came out! It looks new!
You made a wise choice. That is a beautiful combo.I have a Series 0 SS that I've not babied and it looks fine. What you mention here is one of the reasons I went with SS way back when. It is the ONLY finish that you can buff out whatever happens to it. Its solid SS. The others have a "finish' and so finish comes off and you can't fix that. I like the ability to know that it can essentially never get scratched in a way that can't be resurrected.
I just bought a Series 4 SS in the Best Buy deal. I missed the $399 one which is the deal of the decade in my mind. They seem to be out of stock everywhere, so I went with the $499 version with the milinese loop band. I didn't really want to spend that money, but it still seemed to be the best deal. I have a knockoff loop band that I liked but was a little wonky.
I did debated getting the black version. For a few years I've been using a black Gear S3 and liked it. But in the end I think the SS looks best with the most bands, and has a distinctive look to it vs. all the others. Looking forward to the upgrade.
There are many comments about the silver SS getting micro scratches. What about the gold SS? I am trying to decide whether to get silver or gold SS...
The gold stainless steel has a PVD [Physical Vapor Deposition coating], which essentially is a scratch/scuff resistance, as compared to the raw 316 L stainless Apple Watch, that is completely protected. I’ll be honest, there are some members who were not impressed with the gold stainless steel durability in terms of against scratches, but I personally don’t have experience with that specific model.
