Regardless its an issue that you would submit via the bug reporter, which wasn't done until the end of November. Otherwise Apple could fairly assume it wasn't a major issue for people.
I guess that's just a different opinion. In my view, if you take a feature and remove it, there should be a good reason.
And yes, saying "it's confusing" or "it gets in the way" are good reasons. This feature was neither of those. People who wanted to ignore it could very easily do so. It wasn't in anyone's way.
So I don't think they should have known it was a problem in November. They should have known it was a bad idea the instant they did it!
