I purchased the black SS after having the silver. I definitely like it more. I only have Nike watch bands from apple though. I bought NOMAD leather strap and a more casual rubber one. These had hardware options for black and white. The SS is awesome, certain colors I feel may look better with it.. But without using the SS link bracelet I always would get annoyed by the silver on the side , as dumb as that sounds. The black just flows in nicely and doesn't stand out as much. Heres the two bands I got that offered black hardware

Nomad makes a nice Watch band. The leather one you have pictured looks similar to the Hermes Fauve Barenia Leather band, except without the Hermes price tag.

Hermes is very nice. But Nomad makes a similar band, perhaps not in quality of leather, but style wise was what I was indicating.

I can't see the resemblance to be honest apart from the different colour stitching. The Hermès band is much thinner, hasn't got the padding and is lighter in colour (even though it'll get a patina). Then again the Nomad you can't see in person, so may be different.

I can't tell from the thickness from looking at one another, but the stitching is fairly obvious between the two. I actually prefer a more robust, thicker leather band. Nomad makes a decent band, but eventually I would like to own an Hermes band and compare the differences.

To be honest, I think the Hermès band is maybe a little too thin in comparison to the body.

they have two different bands. one does resemble the Hermes style. the one I purchased was called "traditional" has a larger body on it. I have never really seen the Hermes one in person so I can't speak much on it but I do like the quality of the nomad

I would agree, I don't see it either
and I think the Nomad looks like a pillow, don't like it

The Saddle Brown Classic Buckle is a nice compromise

Yeah this is where I landed too. Tried several 3rd party leather bands and they all seemed like they were made for a larger watch. They were too thick, and their clasps were almost comically large when compared to the size of the Apple Watch itself. I finally just bought the saddle brown Apple band. It may be expensive, but the band is perfectly proportioned to the size of the watch.

same issue here...
i want the official apple classic buckle... but they dont look good with my SBSS watch...

im still looking for alternative... i saw the nomad.. i find it too thick ...

Good choice. I know you mentioned the white band annoyed you on how it was the only option, but that's one of my favorite sports bands. It's clean looking and accents the stainless nicely. It's a good starter band once you add to the collection, which can be a slippery slope.

The white would have not been my first choice either but was pleasantly surprised with it came. I am not a fan of sports bands except for workouts, but have been wearing it often. It's a very pure and soft white. With the black screen and the stainless plus the red dot it really looks sharp!

Try the monoware classic leather. They are thinner and have the proper portioned connector. And you can specify the colors of connectors and buckles to work with your watch. They always have some kind of sale online but regular price is $45. They are decent leather not Apple or Hermes but always get compliments on mine. They also have a deployment band that is inspired by Hermes for $65.

I have a 42mm SB SS, and my three bands of choice are 1) ultra violet sport band (normal use) 2) dark blue nike band (gym use) and 3) charcoal leather loop (formal use)

There are certainly bands I like that I don’t think would go it’s the Space black, but there are enough that I have one for every use case, and I don’t think I need more than than that.
