Does anyone else think it's odd that the Space Black watch isn't in any of the commercials? The Edition is, but not Space Black.

I noticed the other day in our current VOGUE Australia my friend had, it had an :apple:WATCH kinda booklet inside, and it showed the Space Black SS... Was slightly odd, seeing as it is nowhere to be found other than under glass at the stores and for try on!

Looks like we're in it for the long haul fam. May 14 is only a few weeks away. Gives you two weeks to save up for some Space Grey Beats Bluetooth headphones for the 2GB watch bangers playlist

Step 1: buy Space Black Stainless Steel Apple Watch with Stainless Steel Space Black Link Bracelet
Step 2: buy Space Grey Alluminum Apple Watch Sport with black sport band
Step 3: put sport band on Space Black Stainless Steel Apple Watch
Step 4: buy some other color sport band separately for the space grey sport & sell it

That's what I did. Meep

I just saw in another thread where someone stated that they found out that several Apple stores had returned their Space Black Link try-on models. Someone else said there is a defect in the DLC process?

I don't know what to believe any more. This is only hearsay.

The lack of official information sucks. Also I saw in another thread that he saw someone with a regular link bracelet shortly after launch day. He didn't ask the person where he got it but rather when and the person replied "Friday" (launch day).

XX:03 email confirmation - 4-6 week shipping club. space black of course

I don't buy this. The store I was at today had it in the display table and a try on model. I was looking at the try on unit to see if there were any scratches on it like people are reporting with the stainless. There wasn't any, the person at the store suspected the carbon anodizing will make it harder and more scratch resistant. I'm going with his theory because it's what I want to believe. :)

OR he can just buy the space black SS Apple watch and a black sport band which is what i did..

It's not a theory. DLC coating if done right can be extremely durable and very difficult to scratch. Knowing Apple; they've done it right.

Just like everyone here, I'm just waiting for an update on the order I placed for my 42mm Black SS at 3:02am on the 10th...(13-27 May delivery). I have been searching all over on line trying to find someone, anyone who has one in hand other than at an Apple store.

It really is the unicorn of the Watches: no reviewers got them, they started with May 13-27 dates, they haven't been in the commercials, it's very sparsely advertised, some retail stores don't have them etc etc.

Hopefully we're only about a week away from the first batch... A man can dream. :D

Well I had hoped for a developer expedited sports model but that fell through.

I have this morning ordered an SS 42 White Rubber strap. I perfer Black but from what I learned here it seems a better shot on the white.

I really am worried that I might feel strange if I ever get a watch. I am in it for the challenge.

I don't see me ever seeing one. This is one F'ED up launch!

Ps. By the way The system has so far assigned me June not sure which year!

Wrong thread...

The more I think about it, the more I keep coming back to my original premise.

Apple simply put these slower to produce, less popular watches on hold to mass produce the more common watches to make more people happy. They used the immediate launch window to push all the Sport Watches. They told us out of the gate 4-6 or more and will meet that window. It's just supply chain prioritization.

There's no theories, production issues, scandals, blame or anything else. No reason to believe everything you read on the corner of the web. Apple will get us our watches.

+1 on this.
