I'm surprised we haven't heard of any muggings for these yet (considering "find my iPhone" for watch doesn't come out until 2.0 - and, even then, not entirely certain it's going to give the same amount of protection).
Murphys law says scratches will appear on the crystal before anywhere else. No matter how careful one is, watches are very prone to scratching. The key is to just accept that and enjoy it.
