I have always on toggled on and the screen still goes black. This is the feature I was most looking forward to and it’s nearly useless for me. I want to open my eyes and see the time, not move to activate the screen. A standard bedside clock will display the time 24/7, why can my $1200 phone not do this? What is the point of standby if it just turns off? I could have the same functionality on iOS 16; my AOD would go off and if I wanted to see the time, I could tap the screen. Standby offers no more functionality than this. oooh, it can be horizontal now 🙄I have it horizontally on a MagSafe charger and it runs for a little over a minute and then the screen turns black. I saw a YouTube video which says that the Standby Always On needs to be selected or it just goes off. I don't have that setting on my phone though.
I may be irrationally angry about this but I’m very upset, I was so excited for this feature. What are the chances Apple fixes this in an update if enough of us complain?
