just got the app and loaded $10 for it. i didnt get the option to pay with apple pay but needed to register my card in it but seems like others were able to load it with apple pay? what did i miss?

Make sure you have Apple Pay setup properly on your phone. It should automatically show up as a payment in any app that supports it.

One thing that really bugs me is you cannot mobile order at a US store if you have a Canadian mailing address, and vice versa. You can see the green dots for the store locations but cannot select them.

As someone who hops the border multiple times per month, this is very frustrating. I hope this can be implemented as SBUX cards can already be used cross-border.

Is there any reason why airport Starbucks locations do not show up in the mobile app?

Starbucks product designer here. For those of you with Wallet issues, could you tell me:

1) If you have automatic updates turned on? (Tap the "i" on your wallet pass, then look for a toggle.)
2) If the card has been in your wallet for a long time, like, years? We switched the backend for passes a few years ago because of issues like this, so I'm curious if older passes see this issue more than newer ones.

This is great that you're following threads like this. I wish more product designers were as engaged. :)

I'm not representing Starbucks, but it may be for the same reason that many of the "unusual location" stores, such as in airports, inside Targets, and so on, sometimes do not participate in the same promotions. These stores seem to be operated by another company on Starbucks' behalf. The app is probably only displaying company-owned and operated stores.

One thing I’ve mentioned repeatedly to store personnel is that while I really do love the app, it’s convenience, and flexible ordering options, there remains one app ordering option that doesn’t appear available that I really want, especially when ordering a hot drink; namely the ability to request a “double cup” which greatly improves the thermal insulation properties as well as reduces handling the very hot cup even when a sleeve is in place. Please add “double-cup” as an ordering option!! Without that as an option in he app, I often have to wait until a barista becomes available to kindly ask for a second cup which somewhat diminishes the whole order-ahead benefits of the app.

Not sure — Apple Pay is an accepted method for reloading Starbucks cards once they're in the app. It's not showing up for you?

I think this is something on the Ordering team's list to do. I'll ask though.

This is exactly it. Stores-inside-of-stores are not company owned, so while payment usually works, Rewards can't be redeemed at most of them. It's an issue, and we're trying to bring them up to the same level of other stores.

Automatic updates is turned on but my pass is the original I’ve had for many years. I will delete it and add again and try Starbucks again later this week.
Cool — hopefully it'll kickstart the whole update thing.

Thanks jstoff! My pass was several years old, so I deleted and re-added. My current balance shows correctly now, so I’ll keep an eye on it going forward. Much appreciated.

If you read the post this replaced, my problem with Starbucks 4.5 is different than I thought.

The update to 4.5 resulted in some stores from which I regularly order disappearing from my "stores near me".

What do I do now?

The wallet app is almost always showing the incorrect balance ever since you were able to have a Starbucks card in passbook/ wallet. Not sure if it needs to be corrected on Starbucks side or Apple side.

We’re not talking about the Starbucks app, we’re talking about the wallet app. The balance is usually always wrong in the wallet app. Not everyone uses the Starbucks app to pay, some people like myself only use the Starbucks app to reload and maybe sometimes order in advance for pickup. But most of the time I just use the wallet app accessible from the lock screen to pay, easiest and quickest way to pay. But like I said, the balance usually is always wrong there, and it’s annoying.
[doublepost=1533083679][/doublepost]Perhaps my case is unusual, but my Wallet total has been correct more often than the Starbucks app. And of course the Wallet is 90% faster to use than the Starbucks app. If it weren't for the freebie benefits I would throw away the Starbucks app which is problematic, slow, always requires you to remember your password after each and every update, etc. etc.
[doublepost=1533083963][/doublepost]By the way, if a designer is actually reading this thread, what's with the latest change to the app? Now it seems I have an option to add to my Starbucks account up to $35 and that's it. The $50 and $100 options disappeared. Why? This means that from now on, I have to have a Starbucks employee add to my card EVERY time, as I don't want to double or triple the numbers of times I have to add cash. Will you fix this????
