Sorry for yet another price thread, but just realized that there is no poll for the price of the Edition.

This is for fun -- if you don't think this is fun, please go do something else. ;)

EDIT: Please don't consider any rumored gold bands in your predictions. This is for the STARTING price, that is, the Edition watch with the rubber band (which has gold pin.)

This is fun, nobody until now discussed about the prices. :D

I have not voted yet, if you see some votes under $1,000 one of them will be Piggie's vote. :D As of this writing, it is zero.

I want it to be less than $5,000 (maybe, someday if it goes over). I will be pleasantly surprised / shocked if it is less than $2,000. Less than $1,000 will be a dream.

I think it will be between $5,001-10,000 - just the gold AW case. Or may still be under $10,000 including the gold bracelets - if both, the case and the bracelet are priced well under $5,000 each.

However, it could easily go over >$10,000 for gold AW case + the gold bracelets/bands. So I might go with this choice since that's the whole package.

It will really be depending on the amount of gold on them + Apple premium + markup on luxury jewelries.

Few days to go for the beginning of another prices chapter and the end to this.

Incorrect actually.
I voted a few hours ago for the $1000 to $2999

My guess MONTHS AGO was $1500 / $1600 ish.
Given the potential Gold amount, some gold in the strap, and some fashion tax and the general "Goldiness" of production/storage, I probably now would up my guess to $1500 - $2000

That, would be I'd say realistic if the amount of Gold is around the amount I am guessing is in there.

I agree, the poll of $1000 to $2999 is too wide.

Note: Unless, and it's a BIG UNLESS there is some special deal with the Gold model to justify the price.
Free updated models for the next 5 years, free upgrade program. Something to justify the rip off.
 
I am just messing with you. I think it has a slight chance to be close or under $3k - just the gold case. And I am hoping that will be the case. If it includes the bracelet, w00t.

Yeah, I was thinking less than $2k too before I started to dig in deeper into this / reading about the takes of some people in the know in the gold or luxury jewelry markets.

The amount of Gold isn't that big of a question mark. I think the evidence for nailing it at $2000-2400 worth of gold seems reasonable.

It's all in Apple's markup. Will they want their typical iPhone profit of $2-300? or will they nail a profit margin percentage of 50%? or will they go for a luxury jewelry markup of several hundred percent to lock in exclusivity.

Honestly.
It would be hard to get around $2400 worth of actual gold in the case.

Half that amount and it does not look a million miles off.
To get twice the amount, in the model I showed, It's possible to double what I showed as a cross section, but you would have to lose a fair bit of internal space.

Well, that's what I pretty much said in my formula (except the amount & price of the gold is a question mark, considering the x amount of gold in the bracelet - the amount of gold in both the case & the bracelet could go way over $3k or more than double vs. what you are saying). :D

WHAT gold bracelet? There is none! Only leather or sport bands with a gold clasp or pin.

If you're talking about solid 18K yellow or rose gold link bracelet, there's no such thing as that was just a forum member's mockup. It'll just be the accents on the bands that are 18K gold.
 
Only leather and the sport bands for the Edition, as others stated the link bracelett was a mock up and just a rumor, nothing confirmed from Apple. Might see a solid gold link bracelett in the future.

How can you be sure that whatever had been officially announced so far is the final lineup of bands? This is all about predictions. JG might have a source on it or he is just purely guessing ... At this point we have to consider it in our predictions, whether we believe there is a possibility or none at all. Unless you want another poll about starting price for both. :D

If the rumors are true or you believe about the safehouse being built or deals with luxury jewelry stores ... Sky is the limit!

I thought he made a revision of going over $20k because of the pure gold link bracelet or something. I have not read any of his blogs-just relying on posts here. And I could be wrong about that as well. Or maybe it was just a forum member's opinion too.

No, he was second guessing his original starting price of $4,999. The solid gold link bracelets are nothing more than a mockup gone viral, and Gruber suggested no such thing.

I was trying to divide the range of 1000-10,000 into three sections, without resorting to dividing at 3333 and 6666, because that would really have people questioning my sanity.

I thought about incrementing by 1000, but that would require 12 options (including below 1000 and above 10k) I think? I was lazy. :p
