Are those not just unsupported third party hacks? Maybe a bit slicker?

No, they're apps off the app store.

By third party hacks, i mean things like hacked installers, registry hacks to disable services, custom scripts to debloat the OS, etc.

The only app I've relied on forever to get better screen layouts is magnet, and thats mostly built into macOS now. I've felt no need to resort to hackery to get the UI back to the old version, tweak it extensively, cut down on the advertising, distractions, etc.

Config you can run System Corruption Scan which will check the system and all drives, repair as needed. Updates pick Security, when you click the tab is self explanatory.

Ok I ran Chris Titus Ultimate Windows Utility twice. In the utility, little check marks are links to his site with explanations of what the things you are turning off do. I ran all of the Standard stuff no problem.

For you or anyone familiar with this utility.
But on the advanced stuff, (as seen on the right side of the image), I saw a message in the task window (on the left), something to an effect: "anti-virus prevented this operation" and it turned off. So I used Bit Defender and turned all of it's active protection off. and ran it again. This time it seemed to work, but I got some messages in Yellow. I took 2 images of the operation, but can't find the second image 🤔 , this image is just the first part of the operation on the task side (left).

"You have attempted to perform an unauthorized operation"
These warnings are they normal? I find it strange because if the Utility has been asked to do this, why would it be sending this message, or because I think because I'm using PowerShell and this is where the "Antivirus prevented this operation" to appear, that those are coming from Windows who does not like being messaged with 😜...?

Thanks! :)

I don't see such messages so your PC must be setup differently to mine. Use Terminal opened with Admin privileges. AV may need to be shutdown, check the notes on GitHub.

I'd argue that DX is "better" than Vulkan because its APIs are vendor agnostic. Vulkan tends to be ahead if you look at vendor specific extensions, but all the general stuff is still behind.

Annoyingly only ID Software still has an engine that uses only Vulkan instead of DX, every other game that has Vulkan is usually worse performing compared to their DX counterpart.
Really? I have just heard a lot of praise about Vulkan recently and just assumed that it must be pretty good. Maybe I got caught in some hype or something.

I've always used Terminal, but Powershell should do the same. Are you running Powershell as Admin?

Q-6
You're actually running powershell from the terminal if you're executing Chris' script, i.e., that's a powershell script.

I have to say, I enjoy using/developing powershell, that's one of the areas that I prefer in windows over the Mac. both the cmd shell, powershell, and even the terminal that MS has been beefing up. I know Macos' terminal and access to unix shell is incredibly powerful including scripting, but I've been using Microsoft's command line interface since before MS Dos 2.11
