that close-up is fantastic!

My left testicle could come up with something better than that monstrocity

terribly done. I feel like my 5 years old cousin could be a billionaire artist based on this stuff.

I'd like to call your bluffs.

As for my opinion, I don't really have one on the statue itself. I do, however, think the amount of worshipping he's receiving even now is becoming a bit too much. I realize he and Woz kickstarted the whole human-interface thing in computers and I can respect that, but still. It's becoming obsessive, and the statue of Steve's head on a spike for all to see is kind of taking things into a creepy angle... hang on, did I just interpret a hidden commentary behind the statue, or am I reading too much into this?

Serbian, Syrian... whatever

This has to be a joke.

Steve Jobs' father was syrian not serbian so really IF anything it should be arabic letters not cyrillic. But heritage and father were irrelevant to Steve Jobs so really... WTF!

and the thing is hideous and far from the finely polished products from Apple / Steve.

yet, I can't quite dismiss the possibility...

What a hideous Thing

Reminds me of this:

Alright, well, I like the face part. And I DO think it looks like Steve. It catches something of his character. The 1 and 0 and the letters are arbitrary.

You in no way should have to explain yourself man. Obviously you aren't alone. Someone at apple likes it too. Again, art is subjective.

De Gustibus Non Disputandum Est.
Concerning taste, there is no dispute.

OK, first glance it's a pretty ugly (isn't English strange) looking object. But then it's a terrible flash photo of a tiny maquette so it's a bit silly to judge it as many have done as a finished sculpture.

I think we need to give Apple some credit for having no small amount of good taste, and I'm sure the final version in full size, tweaked and in situ, will end up being an interesting sculpture that will pique attention due to the obviously cryptic meaning of its symbolism.

In that sense it will be a success.

Is it April 1st alrea..... oh it's not!! Ok then.. it's... well....hmmmmm... errrr...well.... it's special!!

Youch!

Yes, art is subjective, but my opinion on this piece is it looks horrid. Surely they could commision an artist that would give Steve Jobs a more serious approach at honoring him.

oh please no!!!

This stature stands against many things Steve stood for; making things easy to understand, simple to use; and PERFECT!!!

what am i missing here? This is not an artistic abstract or post modern art competition! we would like to see something which represents Steve or his ideas. There is none of it here..

also the sculptor said " I wanted to have a Serbian motif" !! Did Steve have some Serbian connections that we didn't know?

Wow

It's not April 1...

Seriously, who thought this thing was good? It's stunningly bad.

Is it a joke or something?

Reminds me of a very, very, very, bad copy of a Picasso!

Whoa... That's something alright. Anyone ever see Hellraiser III (or the end of Hellraiser II)? It kind of reminds me of that pillar Pinhead was trapped in. :D
