Hello.

Has anyone tried the new steam controller on macOS? Does it work on any game or only on Steam? Does it work on App Store games?

And maybe even more difficult but… has any tried to pair it with a PS5? Does it work on PS5?

Thank you.

As far as I know (without having one cause it has been out of stock) it won't work without running games through Steam (much like the OG Steam Controller which I do have). It won't work on consoles either.

… and it’s $99.

Cheaper than the PS5 Edge and the Xbox Elite controllers. But more expensive than the base controllers. Which don't have Hall effect sticks so you get to deal with stick drift over time (of course the Edge and Elite don't have Hall effect sticks either).

The last Xbox controller I recently purchased (knockoff) was about $30, and for Razer mice, I’m used to paying about $60, but I was buying old models while they were still available, mostly because I found something I like, the 12 buttons on the side of the mouse which I have become reliant on.

I have one of these I have yet to try:
Redragon M908 Impact RGB LED MMO Gaming Mouse with 12 Side Buttons, Optical Wired Ergonomic Mouse with Max 12,400DPI, High Precision, 18 Programmable Macro Shortcuts, Comfort Grip

If you are handy with a soldering iron, you can always install TMR modules into your controllers. Did that and never looked back. Every controller I own gets that treatment.
