Yeah, it's easier for me because I'm not so hardcore - the heaviest game I play is CP 2077, which does look incredible on the 32" OLED connected to my PC. But even then I usually find myself splayed out on the sofa playing on the Deck instead. Can't be bothered to go upstairs to my study. 🙂

I've been chomping at the bit for Elder Scrolls VI - maybe that'll make me change my tune. Well, if they ever get around to releasing it!
Yeah. The convinience of the steam deck is awesome. Super quick to wake it up from steam and start playing.

Also if you have had a busy day or worked hard on a laptop, you sometimes don't want to touch a mouse, keyboard or......windows 🤣

Steam deck replaced by series x three months ago. This is my first handheld pc. Intels new handheld pcs look tempting. However I will only consider one if they run steam.

Well if anything this week has shown the faves industry is alive and kicking, and PC handhelds are not going anywhere! Intels new handheld chip is a genuine next gen boost. I have been considering the new Claw if I sell my Go 2. But then I've thought about a refurb OLED Deck again as the Go 2 is so heavy.

I hope Valve do a Deck 2. For me I've settled on PlayStation, handheld PC and a Mac laptop.

I agree the claw looks extremely tempting. However I don't want to deal with windows on a handheld. Hopefully it will run steam. If it does I will be tempted to sell my steamdeck for an intel based handheld.

Other than they it's a very exciting product category that's maturing nicely. The biggest barriers to steam deck will be securing sufficient quantity of ram and storage at good prices.

This is where intel based handheld will have an upperhand.

Back to pondering about this thing. Wonder if it would actually be an upgrade from the Radeon RX 580 and ryzen 7 1700x (first gen) rig I've shoehorned w11 on.

What games would you like to play?

Realized after reading your reply that I really haven't played any of the steam games in my library lately. Can't really remember last time I launched a steam game. Probably means I don't really need a steam deck and was just looking for a way to keep the games I don't really play to slightly update my system and dump my desktop.

I might not be a gamer 😕

Are you not playing steam games because your PC isn't powerful enough? Steam deck has actually made me play games more often as it's instant boot up without having to click around in windows. I can play anywhere in the house without having to go to desk or sit in front of a TV. Love the convenience!
