I tried portal on my 3 year old macbook, (GMA 950) and it crashes before the menu. In addition, I was hoping the original half life would be mac compatible, but right now it is still PC only.

Steam may be more useful whenever I get my next mac with a beefier graphics card. Still good that a major developer has committed to supporting the Mac at all.

Now, where's the iPad version? :D

Now what was the point of me just downloading Steam? It doesn't work at all. They might as well have released an old dusty muffin.

Not even an Intel X3100 works. Time to upgrade bub ;)

Lol.. :D

Getting Portal right now. I already bought it on the PC, so I guess it should stay playable for me after the 24th, yes? I look forward to how it will run on my Mini..

Yeah I am curious how the 9400m will run source games as well.

any idea why I can not log in?
I get
Steam - Error
Could not connect to Steam network.
This could be due to problems with your internet connection, or with the Steam network. Please visit www.steampowered.com for more info.

I enabled Steam in firewall and I can't think of anything else that might interfere Steam from logging in.

So Braid runs fine, although my save apparently doesn't transfer.

However, Portal says "Unsupported Video Card" and then lists my driver details as "unknown" version "0.0.0.0"

I have a Mac Pro with the 7300 GT.

I know it isn't a great "modern" graphics card, but it runs Portal and TF2 and HL2:EP2 just fine on this machine when running under bootcamp even at 1600x1200.

What gives?

Same here *sulks*

Wow, have folks forgotten the meaning of words?

In the article it reads, "...Those anxiously awaiting...” In addition, I see anxious in posts as well. Why are folks afraid? Anxious means afraid, anxiety, and the like. The correct word is, eager. Those two words, anxious and eager, are not close in definition.

From well educated English majors I read the same mistakes, and more. Makes one wonder how they passed class.

I've been excited about this this for awhile now. Been downloading Portal since about 7PM (it's 10:39 now). I guess it's getting hammered.

I really wish I could get Left 4 Dead or Half Life.
