Anyone here have much experience using Steam's In-Home Streaming capabilities? I was looking at trying it out, with my MacBook Pro as the client and the gaming PC as the server. This would allow me to get rid of an extra Alienware laptop. Mainly looking to be able to do some side-by-side gaming with my son since our gaming PCs are on different levels of the house. Is latency the only consideration for the most part (aside from Steam's "track record")?

Is this streaming from computer to tv?

No, just looking to stream from my PC to my MacBook Pro. I had tried it a few years ago but the performance was up and down. I’ll probably just test it out again to see if it’s improved.

Sorry, I see you said that in the OP. So would you be playing on the PC server, and your son playing on the MBP, or vice a versa? Or would the PC server be a dedicated server?

I tried it on my AppleTV but I think my Wi-Fi is too whimpy...

It's free so why not just try it?
