That's an amazing setup, I would love to see a shot of the entire room to get a good look at your other pieces if you wouldn't mind. Also if you wouldn't mind just maybe a little insight on how you worked the different technical issues and what products you used to accomplish it. Amazing job by the way, it looks great.

thanks for your compliments, my english is not advanced enough to call all of the power tools by name. my english is pretty good, but not that good haha. what kind of technical issues would you like more details on? i could try ;) what you see are the parts that i finished. there is still some things left to make. (pictures only show the parts that are finished) and my room is not much bigger then what you see in the pictures. like 2x4 or something :)

PS: and im putting things on a hold right now for a bit, since my bank account is starting to empty out :p saving up more money to start the rest of the projects.
 
That truly is an amazing setup! I'll be moving to my new house within 2 months and I am considering such a design. Although I am not really handy at doing stuff like that I'll keep in mind to at least mount my Cinema Display to the wall and have a similar construction to hide the cables.

Awesome setup and as we say here in Holland: "Geweldig werk, ga er mee door!"
 
the construction is the only one i could think of that would not ruin the design when hiding cables. and also had some other advantages for me. thanks for your reaction. and do not hesitate to ask question if you feel the need to ask something.

I had no idea you could remove the iMac stand. Good stuff.

As for a wireless keyboard with a number pad, your best bet is a Logitech diNovo but that's black so it won't match, I think.

i know that keyboard but its not on sale anymore in my country :( and yes you can remove the stand form the imac, the VESA adapter from apple comes with instructions on how to do so :)
 
Basically first, was it hard to do? Did you have a lot/any prior knowledge about electrical or wiring?
 
Fantastic setup, I really like the green board. The color pops out against a neutral transition color of the walls.

What material is the board made out of?

What type of paint did you use? Any clear coat? It looks glossy almost like plastic.

You don't sound like an ass, you sound incorrect.

He mentions he built the desk out of MDF, not the wall board. I have learned when building things that you should never assume.

If the wall board is MDF then it's all good but it wasn't mentioned. I am not sure if he used a lighter material since it was wall mounted or how thick of a board he needed to mount the monitor. If you've ever seen my personal setup then you would know I like to pay attention to details.

i am an profesional electrician. but what i used in this setup is not hard/ or has anything to do with electrical things or wiring. Just basic things, if u can detach a power plug from something and re-attach it. you should be well able to do the same things i did. (when talking about electrics/wiring)

thanks! and the board is also made out of MDF. its attached to wood polen between the plaster in my wall with 9, 14cm long screws. and it holds incredibly strong. the paint on the green board is a base coat to treat the MDF and after that a glossy green paint. (no special things like i did on the desk)

do not hesitate to ask for more info :)
 
if you dont mind me asking what site did you go to, to research the desk ergonomics im interested in making something similar to yours except the board you have for your monitor im going to have longer and create like a floating type desk with supports coming from the bottom of the board to support the desk ledge which is only gonna hold the keyboard, mouse, wacom intuos4, and scanner with speakers and monitor being mounted to the board itself

thanks for the help with posting this and getting my creative juices flowing..

I was even thinking maybe adding a tile backsplash to accent the monitor between the monitor and speakers(swan m10s if i can find them)

i didnt go to a site, i just thought u would be able to find it on google, i got lessons on it in school. I think it shouldnt be hard to find. ill post up a link in edit if i find one.
