I've always upgraded to the new update and hit "restore as new." Is there anyway to do this upgrade, preserve the baseband, and retain all game saves and high scores?

Back up your phone first. Run TU to preserve BB and restore from back up should get most of your games saves and scores back.

Or wait till pawnage tool comes out "today" hopefully. That way you just create a custom .ipsw, preserve your baseband, and not have to reload everything to your phone.

I have windows 7 and I had the same type of problem.... I had to do it in SAFE MODE to get it to work... Try it if u get hung up duringthe jailbreak
