I like how these type of posts start off by relaying one piece of perfectly normal information (i.e. Jobs will be at the premiere), and then turn into a debate forum on whether or not the LOTR trilogy is any good. I just find it amusing, that's all...

honest opinion yet another hyped up movie franchies. that has been made by hollywood.. Lovely satisfied.. Thank god some one from the corprations will be represented thats all..

Well done mr jobs for jumping on the band wagon no one will give a hoots right.

Thank you, this proves my point exactly. Did this news article somehow turn into a MacRumors daily poll on what you think of the LOTR series? Oh well, not like this is the first time a thread went off topic. ;)

In any case, I refer back to my original post - why is this such big news that Jobs is going to be at the premiere? Do we need to know exactly what he's doing all the time? I say good for him, and I hope he enjoys it, but I don't need to know about it. :)

to be honest i have no idea why it went of topic but i too hope mr jobs enjoyst the film lol

I am supprised the people who are complaining about LOTR, arent using the fact that Harry Potter is not in it, as their main excuse. :D

I suspect Jobs and Jackson with talk about something.

Pixar and Jackson doing a feature ? That would be INSANE.

and for you LOTR haters...you can always go see Cat in the Hat :)

you know somthing i might have kicked the ball rolling here so iam going to try and slow it down.

Its an intresting fact that jobs is down here for lotrtrok theres a gob full for ya.

what i find intresting is some one has just pointed out a pixar situaton ok so thre could be somthing intrsting in the pipeline yes.. / No or maybe jobs just likes lotr ....

my point was i found the films so far to long maybe i dont like to sit on my arse for 3 hours at a time ..

some eliments of the films are good but not fantastic.

once again hollywood hype is all i can say great idea they pulled it off and its took 3 years to get this far lovely..

good for jackson

Funny, I've heard the King was to attend Return of Jobs Premiere. What a coincidence.

Correction:
This film was not made by hollywood.....
It was made in New Zealand, by New Zealanders (and the odd person outside this great country)
So did anyone spot Steve while he was here? thats if he was here

Well ok, I'm sure NZ is a great country... really a country that has 'classic coronation street' in it's big TV channels schedules really does show how great a country can be ;).

Even 'classic coronation street' is confined to UK Gold thankfully only on digital satelite and cable here :p.

Just joking guys :D.

Steve Jobs in New Zealand? Dude, thats where I'm typing this friggin message from, man!
Yes, our TV sucks.
Yes, our net sucks ($60/month for bottom-of-the-line adsl? thats around $30 U.S $$).
No, we are not a bunch of Maori's wearing grass skirts.
We do have a good Apple reseller here, and at least one applecentre in every city. I didn't see Steve Jobs here, but if he did come i would have loved to meet him. I wonder if he would have done a tour of the AppleCentres?
That would be pseudo-cool. Oh well. Looks like I'll just have to go to good 'ol USA. In a few years yet (I'm 14.)

Yes.
I'm 14 and im a mac freak.
:p
