Probably the best idea I have ever heard. Since getting into college, I probably have spent enough money on texts to buy... 3, 4, 5+ ipads lol

What's so disgusting about the textbook racket is that you can buy all sorts of history, science and other books from some of the top researchers for the usual book prices, $10-$15 etc. But label that same kind of book a "textbook" and suddenly the price jumps tenfold. That's nice. Gouge the very people, students, who can least afford such pricing.

I agree that gouging students and the high price of textbooks is an issue. I think that's a no-brainer arguments. It's wrong. On the flip side - I understand why textbooks are at least somewhat premium (unfortunately) - and that's because of how large the market actually is. There are, of course, several textbooks which are the "standard" for certain subjects. But the majority of textbooks have limited audiences as they are for specifics majors/minors and every professor has their own "favorites" or coursework based on the books they choose.

books like Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and of course, Steve Jobs' biography - all can be sold en masse to everyone. Textbooks are a much smaller audience.

Perhaps we should consider not publishing "spoilers" from the Jobs biography on the front page of the site.

Some may actually enjoy reading the book and discovering the contents on our own.

Post it in another thread and mark is Jobs Biography Spoilers.

Please don't continue to ruin the reading experience by blasting it on the front page of the site!

Thanks for your consideration!

Just don't read the front page rumors starting with 'Steve Jobs Biography:'

I remember all the negative press on the ipad when it came out. I said back then and I still mean it, iPad is a horrible name. That said I still have one, and I do still call it an ipad and not an "apple tablet" or anything.
