People are going to hate me for saying this, but it's the truth. It tanked because it's rated R. This type of film should have the same target market as films like The Social Network. If they would have left out the F-bombs, it would have made more money this first weekend. Just sayin'....

Lol it tanked because no one cares about it.I'm not going to waste a movie trip on a movie like this

BTW black mass is rated r and smashed its weekend opener with 24 million in sales.

The movie rating has absolutely nothing to do with it.people just don't care about it.

You think if it was pg13 more people would want to watch it?

This movie target is not 5-9 year olds and not something you take the family too

I tend to agree, time to move on he's gone and only the fanboys are really interested in him.

No worries - - next year's Steve Jobs/Whitey Bulger crossover film is gonna wow audiences and rule the box office!

Ashton Kutcher killed it dead.
Agree. I finally got around to see the Steve Jobs movie before it hit the second run theaters.

Overall, the cast and crew did the best they could with IMO was a misdirected script and poorly profiled target audience. It may get an Oscar bump. Overall, it didn't connect with a mass audience but only those that were in the business. There were moments where I thought "Steve was exactly like that!" and others with "Nope, he is not like that."

I'm sure this will be shown at first year MBA programs for decades and possibly become a cult movie. It is somewhere between a performing arts movie and a mass release. I expect the streaming revenue for this movie to do well.

Lol, I am so happy this failed. They only managed to make a measly 1 million more opening weekend than the Ashton Kutcher version.

Good riddance Steve jobs movies. No one gives a crap.

IMO, it is time for a total parody comedy version to seal the coffin on Apple origin movies.

Do a version of the Jobs and Woz story as a stoner comedy akin to a nerdy Cheech and Chong. Have them hot box the garage by lighting joints with a soldering iron as the Apple One is under development.

Of course have a few "Hey man, that is good code. I was stoned when I wrote it so I don't know how it works now." and so on. Add some of the Atari stories like the after hours in the hot tub and some LSD trips ... it would work.

Maybe it's time to make a movie on the rise of Tim Cook at Apple, so that it can be rated by beans...
