Steve Jobs Emailed me back in 6 minutes!

You emailed Steve Jobs because of this? Do you email the president when there's a pothole in your street? Eesh.

If that was indeed steve.. That says alot about the mind set of the company and even if it wasnt him.. they still took the time out to reply as him.. in 6minutes..?? Thats impressive.. I personally want to believe its him even though i know VP's and up usually have Executive assistants reading and sending their emails.. but usually not as them.. well then again i dont know that..

Well he sure didn't seem to answer the question very well.

"Ummmm not really sure why it doesn't work? Sorry about your luck! Maybe it's the firewire cable thing not being supported."

-Steve

Still pretty cool that he responded though. If it wasn't actually Steve the answered, however, and just some schmo, I think I would be pretty pissed at the response to my question.

If I were Steve I would have responded in 2 minutes.

With, "How the hell would I know? Call tech support. That's what it's there for."

Apple is not a one-man company. Apple is not Steve Jobs. He's not an engineer, he's not a support technician. You wouldn't ask a shipping & rcvg clerk CEO questions, why would you waste a CEO's time with minor tech support questions? Oh, right, you saw a name you recognized, and couldn't resist dialing the direct line to god, even though you had nothing to say.

Steve doesn't wear Khakis.

It wasn't actually Steve Jobs..
I emailed Jesus once, only he took 8 minutes to respond:(.

Wow your a tecky what is his email jesus@jesus.com ?

Its possible someone else worked for apple like standly jobs could of got that email sjobs@apples.com

I bet Steve personal one is like steve@mac.com or something alittle different. Being related to CEO's of a few medium size web bussniess they would never plubicize there web emails

+1 on this, the HR director at my company always sends out e-mail on the CEO's behalf - message in inbox looks as if it came from CEO

I too have sent messages to Steve Jobs and have received a response. Granted it was for something more than a feature of the iPod touch, however I didn't think it was that big of a deal.

Executives are human, and some do actually respond to customer questions / requests.

Do you routinely email company CEOs for customer service?

Anyone with any sense emails the CEO of a company with anything.

They don't personally answer (or even read for the most part), but it gets passed to the relevant department with a big note that says "from CEO's office" which means it gets looked at much more keenly and faster than it otherwise would.

I used to work for a FTSE 100 finance company that did exactly this - the same complaint to the complaints department would go in the backlog and get answered maybe eight months later. Whereas if it was made to the CEO's office it came to use exactly the same, but as a priority case that went to the top of the queue and would be answered within two weeks.

You know, I almost put "controlling shares" in the company but figured, what the heck...

He doesn't even have a controlling share in the company. I believe he is the biggest individual shareholder, but it's still a very small percentage and nowhere near a controlling share.
