The job application isn't an autograph. It wasn't even signed. It's a historical document. Oddly enough, nobody seems to be particularly interested in where he was applying for work, which I would have thought produced all of the value and interest in the document. Provenance is usually everything with these sorts of collectables, but not in this case apparently.

I suppose. It’s just not offering enough historical data to be particularly interesting beyond a casual look.

That’s because it’s your choice. Others look deeper for a connection lost. $175,000 was a good buy.

Good value is subjective. Value is relative depending on how somebody views what something is worth. Your comparison to $1000 smart phone and $175,000 piece of paper doesn’t seem appropriate to me.

Did Jobs get the job? Where was he applying to? What job was Jobs applying for? Afterward when he founded Apple and hired his board of directors; they in term canned his ass for lack of management experience! LOL! He then found Next Computing and Pixel, Inc. before the BOD invited him back as temporary CEO!

Nobody can deny that he was a top notch design engineer! Just look at his products he has designed.

The "s" in Steve on the two items don't look the same.
You're right. It's also odd that the "S" in "Steven" is the only letter that is capitalized on the job application.

I'm presuming the items were authenticated before being auctioned. Then again, in this age of rampant sports and celebrity memorabilia counterfeiting and fraud, who's to say what is real and what isn't. And even the well-established authentication services at times come under fire for getting it wrong.

hey you, those who don't understand the value of it.
Is similar when Jobs first opened his garaje and start creating first iPhone that no-one like you now, believed in that could be successful. Because your mind's are so shrinked and thight you'll never understand :)
and at the end money are just numbers. the most important from that paper is Value. Which for some of you won't see the value, so why the Hell are you still staying on this macrumos forum ???

Man every time I see something like this about Steve's past and see how he used to ride hard on Wozniak's back i feel bad for woz.

Isn't Woz a billionaire and a lot of his commercial success is attributed to Jobs? I mean, yeah, Woz could get more worldwide fame/recognition but I think he ended up doing alright overall.

The buyer probably has his own "look what I have and aren't I cool" emoji.
The purchase will be framed and spotlit in his Salute to Apple Dome. (SAD)

Not every autograph matches lol. These people aren't robots you know?

My signature can change slightly sometimes as well.

Why feel bad for Woz? Woz made more than he ever expected, and without Jobs riding him hard, may never have achieved what he did. Woz may never have been more than a footnote in history without his meeting Jobs; but I'd wager Jobs would have been a success no matter whom he crossed paths with.
