There will never be another Steve Jobs. He was truly one of a kind... I am sad and sadened for the Apple community... Steve worked hard until the very end.

I hope that he passed quietly, without pain and surrounded by those that he loved... We will all miss Mr Jobs... :apple:

This seems so unreal. Him stepping down as CEO just didn't feel real. This is sort of like a huge rush of cold water.
 
While watching TV on my Mac Mini, my iPad got a notification from CNN saying Steve Jobs has passed away.

I am SO SO sad. This man and this company has impacted my life in so many positive ways. I use Apple products almost every moment of my day and I'm so sad to hear the man who made this possible is gone.

The world has lost a true genius.
 
Wow. Very sad. I had expected it to happen within the next few years but never did I expect it so soon. I will always be thankful for his contributions. I wouldn't be where I am today without the products he created.

I would never have expected less of Apple, but still it is great to see that just a day after releasing a new iPhone, they are willing to take it off of the home page and honor Steve. I wonder how long it will last.

Also, I guarantee this will become the longest thread in Macrumors history. ;)

It's a testament to his legacy that, while we didn't really now him, we still feel like we do. If you own one Apple product and enjoy using it, I do think you can say you knew him.
He was Apple, Apple was him.

No wonder Tim and Phil looked horrible yesterday. I'm sure they knew then.

Imagine having to get up on stage and present knowing that your best friend and founder of the company was on his deathbed.

THis makes a lot of sense.

Go easy, Steve. And thanks for everything.

There is so much more that can be said, but words are but poor substitutes . . .

You made the world a better place, I have no doubt about that in my mind. Not only was there evolution, there was progress.
