I think he already tried that a couple of years ago... didn't work out so well.

Hah. Never seen that one before. Those socks really make a fashion statement, but I doubt they'll catch on.

I think over the next year, we will see more people doing Key Notes to see who does better with the public and who can handle it better as we will slowly see Steve Transition over. Maybe not in 2 or 5 years, but they want us to get comfy with other faces so when the transition time is there, there wont be a huge shocker

I don't believe that Apple would deliberately mislead the press regarding Steve Job's heath. What's the point in lying, since the truth would be very quickly revealed in the event that Steve subsequently had to step down.

Clearly, Apple's working on reducing their dependance on Steve - releasing MacBook without a keynote presentation, sharing presentation duties at WWDC, no Paris keynote, etc, but this strategy isn't necessary as a result of Steve's health. It's not sensible for any company of Apple's size to be dependent on a single individual.

Apple is clearly moving away from big, regular conference Keynotes, to tactical press launches as and when products are ready - that, more than anything, accounts for no Steve in Paris.

I don't know, I sort of like the beard look. Although, with him slimming down, I think that wearing black is a bad idea. Dark colors accentuate his thinner figure. The shirt he wears is also a bit loose and drapes slightly; maybe if it were tighter, it would look more natural.

Just random thoughts.

I`ll second that. He should try and change his wardrobe a lil bit I guess. Something which suits him better than a loose sweat shirt.

I know SJ for last 3 years only. Just saw some of his earlier pics. He looked good enough to be a model or something.

I just dont know why he`s sticking to same look for the last 4-5 years? What happened to his own "TASTE". I really hope we see SJ in a new outfit when he holds the next Keynote.

So what do ya say guys. A completely redesigned SJ Pro next Tuesday.........

That's true, but I don't think Apple has lied or even deliberately mislead -- they've simply provided the bear minimum answer to the questions. I don't claim to know what this means, except that obviously Apple and Steve pretty clearly don't want to talk about this subject any more than absolutely necessary.

I suppose it's also clear to everybody that Steve has slowed down quite a bit over the last few years. He sold his other baby, Pixar. The day will come, perhaps sooner rather than later, when he announces his intentions to step down as CEO of Apple. If an orderly transition to new leadership has been established, then the impact on the company and the stockholders can be minimized. We might already be seeing the first few steps of that process.

Kenneth Lay Dead at 64
- New York Times

This is actually sad. He completely got out of possibly serving time for the crimes he most likely committed and later convicted for.

Remember all of Enron's employees who's lives were destroyed by him.

But I'm sure he appreciates the fact people actually care.

When was the last time anyone expressed concern for Micheal Dell's health?

Who is Michael Dell?

Just Kidding!

Seriously, as much news web surfing as I do, I have never seen anything written about other companies CEOs' possible health situations. The Steve just has a lot of fans among us.
