Steve is one of the most idolized CEOs in the world. his fame is more like that of a rock star rather than a businessman... and on good grounds.

DITTO! he deserves it absolutely. i'm sure it was a tough decision, thinking about jeff bezos, et al, but sj is the guy. well done.
 
The reason why Apple is so successful is because Steve loves it, and doesn't do it for the money. This is why they often make good decisions that other companies would never make!

Care to explain? I don't know anything about him.

That said, Jobs ressurected a dying company and in a bit over a decade turned it into one of the worlds most recognizable and influential. From a business standpoint, thats just amazing. I think the award is justified, though TBH i don't really know that much about other CEO's

What planet are you on? Good god he's not mother theresa. He's one of the richest men in the world because of Apple and his other companies. He didn't exactly return the 7,500,000 stock options Apple (il)legally gave him in 2001. He's an amazing businessman but he's not the second coming of christ. Just sayin'. (let the flaming begin)

Even I had forgotten half the stuff Steve has done. Take any 1/3 of his work and it would be worthy of an award.

Making money and being motivated by money are two entirely different things. You offered no proof to counter his point.

HA! Funniest line, hes doesnt do it for the money!

He def. deserves the title congrats! Again though all these images of Steve as some selfless Saint are totally wrong! Hes a business man, and a very good one at that.

The huge majority of this financial wealth comes from building up Pixar, not from being Apple's CEO. Compare SJ's salary at Apple and his achievements to the likes of AIG, GM, Citigroup, Chrysler etc etc. I'm pretty sure SJ could have gotten much more money out of Apple if he had wanted to.

That said, he surely isn't doing all of this for the greater good. It's more for his ego than his bank account.
