Guess I wouldn't expect any other answer.

("No, Google really caught us flat footed, we don't know how we're going to answer this challenge...")

not picking on u but what software announcement did google catch apple flat footed with? seems like what they announced for android iphone os has had it already.

they announced tethering
over air syncing of apps and music
update all apps at once
flash
and a few ui enhancements

iP os has tethering since 3.0
not really a big deal u can sync apps over air. most of the time people buy music and apps from the device.(lala might be a answer for over air syncing)
ive been updating all apps at once
no flash. flash on my n1 is annoying and i deleted the beta

im sure ive missed a few but if u can please tell me how they were caught flat footed that would be great.

I cant wait to go back to the iPhone

*Yawn*...i'll believe it when i see it.

Like he was gonna say 'Actually, its not gonna be that great. Just a bit of this and a bit of that, you might as well skip it'

...and "blow Google out the water"?

I mean common people...seriously?

come on - gesture to lure or entice.
common - occurring, found or done often

Learn your grammar while you yawn.

We've seen a few hardware photos and a few screen shots of OS 4, but I'm sure there is A LOT that we still haven't seen.
I am sure that there are a few things that Apple has not made public yet, but if you pay $100 (ie, sign up to the iPhone developer program) you can download and install a beta of OS4 (and there have been several updates to that beta already). But most of the main changes must already be public since Apple wants iPhone developers to test and adjust their software on and for OS 4. In particular, Apple wants that developers make use of all the new features introduced with OS4.

If it weren't for Engadget and Vietnam the announcement at WWDC would be much bigger. It seems a forgone conclusion that it's going to be iPhone 4.

I think if MobileMe were free, some advantages in regard to over-air-the synching of Android might already be less important.

What would be funny....

...is if the new iPhone design looked nothing at all like all the "leaked" pictures that have been popping up!

Promises are cheap, especially when there's no punishment for not keeping them. And with every new "sent from my iPhone" mail that's being published I more and more believe that Apple is run by a five-year old megalomanic.

. . . who is a ****ing genius.

When are you going to can the aimless trolling?

Apple is the only tech outfit that actually is able to create excitement and anticipation, precisely BECAUSE their products are worth getting excited over.

If you're head would be any deeper in the sand you'd see China.

Cant Wait for my new toy /Iphone

I hope its look close to this :

2. Cloud services. Here's where Apple is really lagging behind Android

To be fair, even Android isn't wonderful in this area. Something as blindingly obvious as syncing Google Docs is not a feature. Froyo has added some cool stuff, but nothing even Dropbox-esque.

Android is developing fast, though. It's gone from crappier than iPhoneOS 1.0 (Cupcake) to very likely better than iPhoneOS 4 in many ways (Froyo) in only a year, rather than three.

im mean all android is syncing in terms of software is games and music. Lala accusation will negate that and be much better because of how itunes is.

and your point about Mobileme is correct. Apple should at least make contact and calendar syncing free. If those two things are done Android syncing will be the same if not inferior.

point is google shot all of their ammo. we have wwdc and the itunes event. I think itunes event will introduce the over the air syncing capabilities along with iTunes X

I love Steve! It's so cool if he really replies randomly to emails. As I said before, MobileMe free would be very nice.

About other things people are mentioning here: I don't care about at&t/verizon news. USA is not the center of the world and any announcement about that shouldn't be considered that big of a news.

I think apple took as long with maturing the os is because they want it butter smooth. yes android is moving fast but the experience is bad. I left my 3gs for an android device and in a 8 month time frame ive had the magic, moto cliq and now the nexus one. I have yet to come across that solid user experience yet. Apple needs to buy drop box to fix up idisk and integrate as much as they can into os 5.0

No

'Taking the piss' is a phrase we use in the UK. It means 'o boy, did that mofo just diss you' or in another way 'Google are really pushing their luck, what are you going to do to get them back?'

Do Brits even talk like this - o boy, did that mofo just diss you?

I think he meant to say:

Top of the morning to you, Stevo. What you going to do about those bloody, fish and chips eating blokes at Google. They sure are going all red rag to the bull here. Maybe you could have Eric over for a spot of tea. Then you can snog and make up.

I take it you haven't been to the UK....

That was hilarious: "And after WWDC we can both go n' hav' a cuppa' n' then you can gimme your digits."

They are going to have the cast of Glee perform the entire stolen iPhone saga on stage as a Off-Broadway production of "I Just Found an iPhone".

Off course it is going to blow people away.

A friend of mine just got the HTC 'Incredible' and after playing with it Apple has some work to do. A couple things Droid has built in:

1.) voice to text. How can Apple NOT have this?
2.) GPS turn by turn voice commands. With Apple you have to buy an app.
3.) Bluetooth on/off in a single touch.

And these are just a few. Am I the only one hoping Apple includes these FREE in 4.0?

You really want to get into the ridiculous stereotype argument?

Because to be fair, you have rednecks. ;)

I think we should, they are so retarded, just because in movies they make english people sound like they did in like the 1960's :L
