Looks like it's fake. Who has such as sad existence that they spend time making fake Steve Job's emails. Pathetic.

Hope that that is what Jobs would have said. I hope the the final design of the iPhone is different than what we have been seeing.

I thought I was a geek just because I spend hours on here commenting on articles. Now I realize that you are not truly a geek loser until you start faking Steve Jobs emails to lame stories.

Fake or not, it still doesn't provide any real information. Here are some more fake Steve Job messages:

"And you can take that to the bank."
"Hold on."
"Patience, it will come."
"We are working on it."
"Just download your favorite app. It isn't a big deal."
"No laptop is water proof."
"HTML5 is available to solve that problem."
"USB can do what you need."
"Nobody needs to print photos on paper anymore."

You know what still bothers me about the whole leak?

Apple supposedly remotely wiped the device. I can understand why you'd want to do that if there was any important information on it, but...

We all know about iPhone OS 4.0. Yes, the guy that lost it may have had personal info on his phone. However, wouldn't it be better to simply lock the device and continuously check the "Find My iPhone" on MobileMe?

Something about this "leak" just doesn't seem to add up. We have all sorts of stories about iPhone users using MobileMe to locate their lost iPhones. Presumably an Apple employee would have a MobileMe account, right?

His reply probably should look more like.

Don't worry, you haven't seen nothing yet.

Or.

You haven't seen nothing yet.

Find my iPhone and Remote Wipe are broke in 4.0. They wiped it using the Exchange Server wipe. See here.

Some people have gotten responses from Steve jobs and there is proof.

I'm not saying that Steve Jobs (or one of his assistants) has never responded to user emails sent to his address. What I'm saying is that people now seem to be assuming right away that each of these claims is true, instead of looking into them first.

9 to 5 Mac apparently got an email and just published it on without looking into it properly, and this was then picked up my MacRumors.

The first thing to do is to actually try to verify something is true before putting it out there; or at the very least indicate that the information is unconfirmed or being investigated. Is that so hard to do? We all know there are a mix of rumors, unconfirmed reports, and facts on sites like this. That's why it's important to make it clear which is which.

Well that sure stinks. I hate it when people make up stories and hoaxes. It builds up false anticipation.
