Computer "stuff" doesn't belong on TV.

... There is always an inexpensive way to get your computer "stuff" onto your TV, it is called a video cable. ...

It used to be called WebTV too. And now Google is trying the same thing all over again with Google TV.

Terrible idea. Computing is individual. Big-screen TV viewing is communal. Will Dad will be allowed to check power tool prices on Amazon while the family is watching "Wall-E"? Will Mom will be allowed to check her e-mail during the Super Bowl? Will little Billy be allowed to update his Facebook page during the Nightly News? No, no, and no.

Hard-core single male techno-geeks will love Google TV for about a week. Then the novelty will wear off, they'll get tired of walking to the living room and turning on the big-screen TV just to tweet what's in their sandwich, and they'll destroy that massive Logitech keyboard when they sit on it accidentally.

This is great news. I hope it's on its way with a software update along with ios 4.2.

Other than the stupid little 1.0 bugs (which will get fixed) -- missing the iTunes Extra was my #1 problem with the new Apple TV.

If this is real, then I am thrilled we are getting the iTunes Extras on AppleTV. Just bought Toy Story 3 today, and I will enjoy that on Apple TV more with the extras.

because you are tied down to an apple device. What if you wanted to watch video on your tv and didn't have an apple device? You wouldn't be able to watch anything!

What if you wanted to watch a DVD on your tv and didn't have a DVD player? You wouldn't be able to watch anything!

Well, when I went to watch toy story 3 last night, it wouldn't load up on any of my new apple tvs. I would get an error message that said the content could not be loaded at this time and to try again later. The only way I got it to work was to remove the extras component from iTunes. I hope that was a fluke, otherwise the lack of support is going to be a bit of a headache.

what is steve jobs' email anyway?

If I had Steve Jobs' email, I would ask him if Apple TV has subtitles and additional language audio tracks for rented / purchased movies. I honestly don't know if the Apple TV / app store has this. However, if I found out these features were missing, that would definitely prevent me from buying an Apple TV since those are things I care about most when I actually watch a movie.

The iTunes store has already missed out on many sales opportunities since there were no subtitles or other language audio tracks. I must wait for the future...

Steve always knows how to respond to things. Short and sweet.
Short & sweet, with the uncanny ability to tell his followers exactly what he wants them to believe.

The real stroke of genius is his success is influencing them to propagate what he says verbatim.

Taking their free thinking away, they're perfect little robots. Just another blissful day in AppleLand.

far more difficult if you computer is several rooms away.

and hdmi cables or like $50, 2 of them and you have an apple tv!

Planning to integrate things that are several rooms away is stupid. Plan better.

And geez, shop somewhere intelligent. Don't have to spend anywhere near that much. PS: :apple:TV uses HDMI.

These "Steve Jobs says" stories are creepy - I cringe at every thread that starts with some variation of "Steve Jobs <active verb>"....

How uncanny... i have a similar opinion of —and reaction to —posts such as yours there (which ooze "anti-Jobsian" bile).
