No, I did. My point wasn't an Android vs iOS debate. It was simply an example that sometimes customers don't understand all the issues involved in creating a "simple" feature.

nah you said:
Maybe some things aren't quite as simple as you think.
:p

Also, photo attachments or any attachment shouldn't be super complicated considering we have had it in the jb scene for a while for apple to just 'implement it' like most of the 'new' software features.

Photo attachments aren't the OPs issue (I hope) as we've had that ability for a couple years now. I believe the OP means files other than photos from within the iCloud Drive.

Its the same, again jb has any attachment for a while, we are speaking of attaching directly from the mail app, not even w photos is this currently possible. I have added it to my prev post so you can be happy I 'covered' all bases ;)

Or maybe Apple really was just lazy, or fell for their own ******** and didn't prioritise it.

Like an awful lot of things in iOS.

It's not even like the copy and paste implementation is especially good (and has been completely neglected ever since).

hmmm ... so this description from Macworld is a fallacy? :(

"Wait, wait—iCloud Drive? Does iOS 8 finally get a file system?
Another feature that will span multiple devices, iCloud Drive is a central storage locker for your documents and projects from various apps on both iOS and OS X. You can find out more about it in our iCloud FAQ.

But to answer your question, yes, it does mean that iOS 8 will have access to files and not just from within the apps that created them. The Document Picker—as Apple has dubbed the new interface—looks a lot like a traditional Open dialog box on the Mac, right down to the search field and (from what we’ve seen) the ability to toggle between icon and list views. While files will be grouped by the application that created them in by default, Apple says you’ll also be able to create your own folders and organize your documents any way that you see fit. In OS X and Windows (yep, we said Windows), you’ll be able to simply drag files into the iCloud folder to sync them between your devices, à la Dropbox."

My point was that it currently is possible to attach photos and videos directly from the mail app.

I have no idea what distinction you are trying to make.

Also, photo attachments or any attachment shouldn't be super complicated considering we have had it in the jb scene for a while for apple to just 'implement it' like most of the 'new' software features.

Like I said, some customers don't understand all the issues involved. For example, by enabling features like that on a jb device, you are bypassing iOS security.

No, it's not the same. iOS 7 allows you to insert photos or video from within the mail app.

Or maybe their priorities for iOS are simply different than yours.

Remember; buying into Android is buying into an open and free for all ecosystem that tracks everything you do, and selling it to the highest corporate bidder.

Why so paranoid, facts are Apple has everyone's ID, plus credit cards linked to iTunes, and as recently revealed, very weak security.

Then there's big data that has more info on individuals than any Smartphone collects. Welcome to 2014 :)

Gmail app on Android allows you to attach any document while composing an email. iOS 8 still doesn't have that ability.
If you're a Gmail user you can use the gmail app on iOS as well. It supports the same file as the android version (add photo, file from Drive etc)

The weak security is by the individual user and not iCloud. The security question answers used by the celebrities was public knowledge.

It's 2014. I shouldn't have to rely on JB, a 3rd party app or switching to another OS to have this basic functionality. It's the ONLY thing I miss from my 7.1.2 JB. It's ridiculous.

You're guessing and assuming. A few articles last week that spread all over the web addressed a security failure in IOS, which had nothing to do with the celebrity situation. The bottom line is any mobile OS is vulnerable, no matter how much denial Apple practices.
