i got mine a month ago , i bought it simply knowingly that a new mbp is coming out. honestly, i don't care ... i would rather have something NOW and enjoy it now instead of having to wait till later. things in life like gadgets shouldn't be SUCH hard of a decision. live it up.

i really like your take on this, i've been steweing for the past 2 weeks on this decision, i'm thinking of just ordering, but i'm going to blame you and AppleDApp if a better one comes out in the next few days and I get gimped :p

I can assure you MacBook pro's wont be out for a while. Most of the intel CPUs released today were desktop CPUs. Chances are the iMac will see a refresh before the MBp. I saw a rumored date for early June for mobile CPU. So either buy now or wait about 6 weeks.

dude, you do know its going to take forever for the mbp to come out ? id honestly say more than a month ish if we are lucky. i enjoy mine and laugh at everyone who is still waiting. buy one, use it NOW. live it up NOW instead of wishing what you can have later.

cancelled my order - if i am waiting till next month, i might as well wait without it right?

man i hate apple and my indecisiveness!

Because two facepalms wasn't enough.

if you cannot wait anymore (based on needs, not on will to put ur hands on the machine asap) go and buy now, you dont wanna 'live' the next 4-12 weeks like 'it's coming out tomorrow! and then it's not'

i do not have all the needed cash at the moment, and my laptop is still running good, i have no hurry so i can wait from 2 weeks to 2-3 months

a brand new late 2011 model fulfilled with 8-16gb ram and a nice SSD are a great machine anyways, go on with no remorse.

I had a similar dilemma, but decided: whatever:)
It's not totally up to me as a friend of the family will be getting me a Macbook from the US - and the purchase date depends on his scheduled time of arrival - so if the new MBP comes out till the end of month, then great, I will be able to choose if I want the old or the new. If it doesn't, then I'll just have the old one, which I consider to be a great machine that is simply enough for me - considering my needs. And I'll just get the newer one the next time I change computers - and by that time I will know all of its pros and cons, so I'm alright with that scenario.
And all in all it's just a computer - I don't have the need to have the latest model, I just want a one that "fits" me.
