Feb 20th, yes. But that is for main release, Apple and Intel have close relations. testing and early access rights often times. Apple can not be constrained to a Feb 20th release if it had a choice, could be earlier, could be later. But saying Apple can't because of x date regarding this scenario seems unlikely.

I’d love to see a new line of MBP’s in Feb. I just bought a15” i5 last week at Best Buy, but part of being a “Silver Reward Zone Member” is that I have 45 days to return it with no questions asked. If, in that time, they release a new line of MBP’s you can bet I’ll take it back and get a new model.

Dude, how much is silver reward zone member? Maybe I need to go buy one at bestbuy now w/ that plan so that I can just return the damn thing when new mbp comes out..

The MacBook is overdue, the MacBook Pro is overdue, the iMac should be also updated around May and the iPad 2 is going be introduced in the near future. My guess:

February: MacBook Pro
March: MacBook
April: iPad
May or WWDC: iMac

I think you have to spend like $2000 there a year to maintain the status. It's worth it for stuff like this. They also don't charge you a restocking fee on items like the MBP or camera lenses if you choose to return them. I think signing up is free. Just make sure they scan it every time you buy something there. You'd be how quickly stuff adds up.

I won't do this, as I think it's immoral, but you could conceivably return and return. So let's say I return the one I bought last week in mid-February, my 45 days would reset again. You could parlay it to to the Summer if you wanted to. But like I said, I personally won't do that - even to a big faceless corporation like Best Buy.

BestBuy said:
Simply spend $2500 in a calendar year at Best Buy® or BestBuy.com® or spend $2500 anywhere with the Reward Zone® program MasterCard® to qualify for Premier Silver status.*

So you do have to spend $2500 a year, but you don't have to spend it at BestBuy. just use your BestBuy credit card.

thanks guys.. not bad. although I am not due for another credit card at this point so will pass but good information to have.. just in case.

Back to suffering and anticipating..

Intel's Merom released on August 28, 2006.
MBP refreshed on October 24, 2006.

Intel's Penryn released on January 6, 2008.
MBP refreshed on February 26, 2008.

Intel's Arrendale released on January 7, 2010.
MBP refreshed on April 13, 2010.

The only early access I know of Apple getting from Intel is access to some Xeon processors for their Mac Pro line. I don't see Apple getting early access on consumer level processors all of the sudden. Sorry, but I think you're wrong and those dates don't support your theory.

Perhaps, we shall see. it is true however that Apple has been testing SB for some time now and that production was increased to meet demand. Whether it is feb or not, seeing a full year between updates still seems out of touch. Feb- March. Either way still, once ipad 2 is announced, released or media event, the mbp rumors will take the spot light.

Febbbbbbb..

Seriously ipad 2 i want badly.
But tablet cannot become full time productivity. We need mbp.

I am waiting for a new processor for the Macbook Pro 13" as well.

Honestly, I don't neeed an i3, a C2D will probably suit me just fine. I just don't want to spend $1,500 on old tech. So I am gonna wait, hopefully I don't have to wait for too long.
