iOS5 added the ability to create aliases. The default entry is “omw” which is replaced with, “On my way!” but you could create whatever you want.

It's in BETA. Again, it's in BETA. If you don't want to use BETA software don't download it.

I don't i am not a developer and I am not going to install software that I'm not "entitled too."

Just from WHAT I see/read there is no "quick reply/send" and was just curious if there was at. Why I figured I'd ask someone that is using iOS5.

You laugh now, but it's gonna end up happening...

I agree, only iPhone 5. And for the few that say well you can swipe to go to the message that is not the same as a quick reply because you are still actually going into the message app itself thus leaving the app you are in .

But Apple's whole design is based on user-friendliness, intuitiveness, and sleek functionality. Having to exit one app to go into another and then switch back is none of the above.

I totally agree with the desire for a QR option.

Howver, I do have to note that Apple's whole design is based on a one app at a time paradigm, where the user must select which app they want to use or go back to.

(Some other OSes use a Back button which knows your app usage context, so you can always instantly go back to your previous app(s) without looking up a recently used list. To me, this is the biggest missing usability feature in iOS.)

This. If I'm in the middle of something (watching a movie, web browsing, playing a game), I'd rather not have to switch to another app to reply and then switch back. I'd prefer to be able to just reply right then and there and carry on with my business. Yes, it is only a matter of a few seconds... But Apple's whole design is based on user-friendliness, intuitiveness, and sleek functionality. Having to exit one app to go into another and then switch back is none of the above.

I'm just hoping that BiteSMS won't take long to adapt to the new notification system if Apple doesn't include QR at some point in the beta process.

Seems like there will still be the possibility for apps to use old-style notifications.
