Speaking of the iTunes releases predating iTunes 12 I don't think the functional value of its store is the same if you want to buy and download iOS applications. It's no longer possible even with those iTunes 12 versions that are older than 12.7. As for the rest, the blow hit iTunes 11 the most since you can't preview songs or manage your Wish List section which became increasingly glitchy provided it wasn't a UI bug. The only experience that's worth it is the restored ability of Genius to connect to the iTunes Store.

I'm running iTunes 10.6.3 under OSX 10.7.5. I haven't logged into the iTunes store for a couple of years, but it certainly worked last time I tried and I downloaded some previously purchased media.

Today however, it won't let me log in - it merely tells me to upgrade my version of iTunes when I try to login. Unfortunately I need iTunes 10.6 or earlier for the lagacy plugins I need to run. I'm hoping that I can get it working under Windows as it seems Apple has stopped 10.6.3 from working under OSX.

Yes, the same story, I'm running Lion. Won't load the store unless updated. I think any iTunes 12 connects, I'm going to check iTunes 11.

The notice is displayed only when you go to the 🏠 of the iTunes Store or are trying to view your 👤 info. When you browse by category or section of the iTunes Store it loads the contents.

I wonder if it's possible to write some extension to plug it into Squid so that the requests would be modified to spoof Apple servers to make them think the version is compatible @Wowfunhappy .
