Still receive email notifications even though turned off

Is there a way to stop receiving email notifications re: threads I am watching and/or participating in?
I have them turned off in my Preferences but continue to receive email notifications

Depending on the preference, that might have been turning off notifications going forward.

If you want to see what threads you are currently following/subscribed to:

https://forums.macrumors.com/watched/threads

You can turn things off per thread or all.
