Folks don't re-post pics. We have all seen them , even when replying to a thread. If you wish to quote, cut out the pictures or at least change the IMG tag to TIMG.

Ruins an otherwise great thread ;)

Need additional info on the STM bags

Hi all,

A) I am really tempted by the STM Jacket iPad. For everyday carrying, the lighter and smaller, the better. My concern is about the strap: is it long enough to wear it cross-body style? (I am not exactly small, at 5.9ft and 260 pounds...).

B) comfort: for those having trying both bags, is there a clear difference in weight and comfort among them? My guess s that the micro extra small's vertical orientation and better strap can compensate part of the difference in weight and size, but does it really feel equivalent, or there is a noticeable difference in carrying them?

C) On the micro extra small: I'd be tempted by this one as it can also carry the Apple wireless keyboard (in the open back pocket) even if not in ideal position. But I don't plan to carrt it taht often, certainly not every time I take my ipad on the street. My main question on the micro extra small is whether toy think I could accommodate my headphones (B&W p5) in the front pocket. I don't need to carry my iphone or pens or anyhing else that take any width, and the flap seems to provide some "give", but I really cannot guess from the pictures.

the P5 dmensions when folded are 5.9 x 7.1 x 1.4 in.(150 x 180 x 35 mm). A bit more with the pouch, but I could use a thin suede one.

I am looking for the lightest and smallest bag being able to carry both the iPad and the headphones for those boring one day trips where in fact most time is spent in airports and coffee shops after or before a short meeting ;-)

Then for those days when I need to carry everything, well, a small backpack, one of those I have for my MacBook Air, will make it, as they are more comfortable than messenger bags.

ps: the problem is that no bags are available in this part of thwe world, and returning them if they don't fit paying intercontinental return carriers is an expensive games, hence the admittedly stupid questions.

I have both bags. The strap is removable so if you wanted to replace it with something longer you could do it. Both straps are the same as far as I can tell. The pocket on the jacket is pretty tight and you are not going to get much in there besides the power adapter. I would get the micro if you need to carry a few other things in addition to the ipad.

I would probably go with the jacket if I had to choose between the two because I can easily fit the jacket into a backpack whereas the micro is a little too bulky for stuffing into another bag. But I like them both a lot. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. Let me insisist though in the most important question I ahve on the Micro extra small: do you think that I could fit in there my Bower & Wilkins headphones? (1,4 or 1,6in at their widest part when folded). This would be for the the selling point over the jacket. If not I'll go for the jacket, I guess.

I'm surprised I've never seen that bag before. It's pretty much exactly what I want. :)

Yep, they will fit. Here are my Bose headphones in the micro pocket.

Wow, that's a rply with clear evidence attached ;-) As my P5s seem a bit less bulkt than your Bose, they should also fit.

Thanks.
