Although I feel bad for you having lost your iPod, do you realise this is more of a technical help forum/ rumours chatter, rather than dish out common sense advice to people who don't have the care to look out for their belongings.

The only advice we can offer you is speak to Apple, tell them your serial number. Tell the police, they might give your school a kick up the arse in paying attention to this kinda thing if nothing else, and also check out your insurance. There's no chance you're gunna be able to claim this on the Apple warranty, it would be insane if people could just go into a store, say that it had been stolen and ask for another.

Despite my rather abusive reply, i do feel sorry for you and hope you have some success with one of these options.

i felt somewhat hypocritical laughing while getting a headache trying to read what the OP said, but then I remembered that I have used some of the common AIM/Facebook chatter accidentally, however that was absurd.

As for what you can do, report it to Apple, but good luck, the only way that you would get it back from them is if it had a problem and someone took it to a retail store. Get a lock or be more creative next time.

In defence of my generation, not everyone who has grown up in the Internet era has bad grammar. Not all College and University students write papers and essays like they're an IM conversation. I have heard way to many people (not just in this forum) read a post much like the original one in this thread, and automatically class all people of that generation as ignorant and stupid people.

I do find posts with horrible grammar as intolerable if English is your first language. But please do not stereotype, it drives me up the wall.

There's still no reason for others to critize and make fun of him. Nothing but pure ignorance.

Wish we all could just get along.

EDIT: And for those too lazy to read...

Thank you for the translation! (Although, not to beat the dead horse too badly, someone who is in high school or college in an English-speaking country should not need translation.) To be honest, I like to be helpful on the forums, I really do. I even give quite a bit of leeway for bad spelling. (With the occasional light-hearted jab at a bit of bad spelling or grammar that comes across unintentionally funny.) But this was just riduculous. If the OP really wants to get help from complete strangers, he/she should write in a manner that can be understood without the need of a "Texting to English dictionary". The fact of the matter is that it took me 20 seconds to read your "translation", while it took me about one full minute to decipher the original message.

And, yes, r6girl, the original poster was the person my rant was aimed at. I thought siurpeeman's post a humorous spoof.

As much as people writing in forums as they type on IM annoys me, I do feel for you. That sucks your iPod was stolen but I am afraid that you may just have to chalk this up to experience.

My bike was stolen at my apartment and my parent's homeowners insurance said they would cover it, but my parents had a $500.00 deductable, aka won't cover anything less that $500.00, so even if homeowners insurance covered it, check the deductable. Sorry to hear it was stolen, having something stolen sucks a lot!
