Apple Store down - Here we go

Alright, it has begun. Let this finally be the moment we've been waiting for!

The Apple Store regularly is down at night for routine maintenance. It doesn't mean anything. There are dozens, if not hundreds of useless threads like this.

This is the usual time for the store to go down for product refreshes. Plus the store is going down worldwide. Wondering how close Gruber was on his predictions.

GL

I'm worried that as soon as I saw it was down I had the urge to rush over here like an excited school girl...

You just know it's going to be for a new iPod Shuffle or something lame like that. Or maybe it'll come back up and the Mac Pro will have a "Discontinued" stamp across its picture ;)

Nope. The apple store is one of my top sites, so I see it every morning when I fire up Safari. This is the first time in a few months that it's been down. There's nothing regular about Apple's maintenance.

Instead of crapping on someone else's enjoyment, just don't say anything at all. In fact, by commenting on this thread, you bumped it to the top, and now I'm commenting on it which will keep it at the top. If you really want a thread to die because you think it's useless, just keep your mouth shut and move along.

Hey I'm getting giddy like a little school girl too :D

LOL, that is true though. The iPod shuffle is definitely over due for an update.

Also, it could possibly be the white iPhone up for pre-order, but I don't want to ruin the vibe we got going here :)

There have been 96 threads in the past year with thread titles relating to "Store Down". Of those, 29 threads were closed and 19 were sent to Wasteland.

I know, we are all so numb with repeated dissappointments, there is a part of me that won't believe it until I see it..., and then maybe for a few minutes after that.

For a major update - defined as 3 or more refreshes and/or new product introductions - the store can remain down for 2 to 3 hours. For a single product line refresh, it takes only 30 minutes to an hour... 30 minutes have already elapsed since the store went down, so this is no small matter ;)

But this has GOT to be it, way too many recent rumors for this to be a coincidence, I say probability actually favors a mac pro release for a change, everytime I saw a mac on mr front page I squealed like a school girl, when the beautiful words "new. mac. pro." grace my eyes for the first time in the apple store describing something other than 1.5 year old computer...I may literally fall over.

Everyone has their credit cards ready? Anyone, else, most excited about the 27" and maybe larger ACDs?

How many cores in the Mac Pros? 12 or are there 16 possible?
