So, did the full restore help? I'm having the same problem here, and I don't know if that's an OS bug or a faulty battery...

Unfortunatly a full restore did not help. I have found (like other users here) that the only way to solve this problem is to turn Push mail off.

Last night I fully charged my phone, finished at about 1 am. Just before that I had been using Safari to access the NFL site. This morning when I woke up, my phone had over 8 or 9 hours of usage on it. I'm wondering if it's Safari with certain web pages?

Do you typically use Safari every day before these big battery drains?

I usually did use Safari during these "mysterious" battery drains, but I think the main culprit was Push. I'm not sure if you have Push on, on your phone, but you may want to experiment with turning it off to see if this solves your problem.

Yes, I have had push turned off for over a week now, and have restarted my phone several times since then.

I forgot to mention that I had EXITED Safari by pressing the home button before I stopped using the phone for the night. I've never had this strange behavior before, but my Safari usage is inconsistent - sometimes I don't use it at all for days at a time.

The battery of my 1st gen 16GB iPhone (fw 2.1) also sometimes drains over night. The difference to the posts here is that I actually switch the iPhone off completely at night! I charge it to 100% and turn it off before I go to bed. In the morning, it occasionally shows me the no battery logo.

Since it even drains when switched off, I wonder how it can have anything to do with the firmware or applications. Can anyone confirm this?
