I just acquired a XS (not the Max). I frequently use one hand with my iPhones with a popsocket. I find that no matter where I put the popsocket I can no longer effectively navigate the screen with one hand. I tried using Reachability feature and that's a big of a pain to activate every time. Any other one handers find the same thing with these larger screens?

I’m going to propose a radical solution: use two hands. It’s been working well for me. If I’m using one hand it’s because my Max is pinned against my chest or in the cradle in my car. Otherwise, two hands.

Also, what’s a popsocket?

This is what solved the problem for me

The Xr and Xs Max aren't meant for one handed use. They're basically phablets. Heck, even the X and Xs aren't good with one hand. As long as phone screens get bigger and app devs continue to put buttons and poorly designed hamburger menus near the top of the screen then this will continue to be a problem.
I can easily one hand a Max. I get that some can't though LOLOL
I can clear the screen EASILY with one hand.

I think the X/XS are actually pretty good compromise on screen size vs one handed use. My previous phone was a Oneplus 3 which was just about the max physical size I could handle with a 16:9 5.5" screen. I knew I would have trouble with these new bezelless screens if I went with a similar sized device so I got the XS. I use it one handed most of the time and it works pretty well.

XR and XS Max are not for me because they are just too damn big and that extra screen space doesn't really give much benefit for anything but video/photo viewing or games.

It shouldn't be such big deal. Surely it can be solved with a gesture app like what I use on my note9. It is a breeze using my note 9 one handed by swiping in from right edge (straight, diagonal up, diagonal down) giving a total of 6 possible gesture coomands)

I like the Note 9 one-handed mode better than Apple's Reachability feature. You have to constantly re-enable reachability if you need to do multiple things at the top of the phone. I hope they improve things like this in iOS 13.

My bad on the title and message. I corrected message. Is there a way to update title?

Try using it longer. It took me a week to reliably invoke it.

Do you not have 2hands?

It hasn’t occurred to you that the original poster might possibly be an amputee or have a physical disability preventing two hand typing. Probably not, but if so, your post is very condescending.
