On the contrary, my main system (cellphone) is iOS and then Android is my plaything.

The customizations and rom-flashing of Android are addicting -- for the first 3 months of a device -- and then I got tired of checking forums everyday and flashing and testing roms (meaning wiping the phone!!) twice a WEEK. Then a couple months later the next flagship android phone comes along and it starts all over again. So Android is my plaything and iOS is staple.

I think that this is the best point here.

People who are really into technology and cell phones, like many of us here, often feel this way about iOS because Android is new and different. But that's just it, yeah it's new and different, but it accomplishes pretty much the same tasks that you can do on your iPhone now. After a few months of owning an Android device, that interface will no longer be new and different, something new will come out, and cycle will begin again.

So my advice, as parrot5 said, is to get an Android device to play around with, but leave your life on your permanent smart phone -- your current iPhone.

This is why stores have phones on display. What's stopping you from going and spending an hour with the android device you seek? You're genuinely interested, they won't kick you out.

I went to my nearest AT&T store one year ago to test out the 4S.

I was kicked out for playing with it for one hour :(

Yeah, the security guard was being a prick :p
