I'm in NYC too. Same delivery date. Cant decide if I shld pre-sign since I wont be home.

That might be your best bet, or you can arrange to pick it up at the UPS center. They unfortunately won't leave it with a neighbor. Also, I don't know if this is applicable to you, but if you have it shipped to your job, Apple lets you check the address as a business address, that way you're guaranteed to get it before 5 pm. Just a note for future reference :)

Yeah I changed the shipping address to my work address for that exact reason. That way my company's mail team can deal with signing for it, plus corporate addresses get earlier deliveries don't they? My office building has it's own zip code... that's gotta mean something right?!

Please don't... That's incredibly risky. If someone takes it you are just OUT and will have to buy one at retail price.

Edit : i guarantee teenagers are driving around this week picking them up off doorsteps.

Not too easy to get into my building. It is a multi-unit complex. UPS usually leaves packages in front of people's door. No kids in the building, all adults, etc. I can specify a "leave at" instruction to leave at my door.

I am also stuck in ZhengZhou. I'm bummed since I was among the first to get a ship notice, among the first to get a departure from ZhengZhou scan, and a half hour later got stuck back in ZhengZhou, missing the plane to Incheon.

I've been annoying everybody with a high-pitched privileged whine of "My phone is stuck in Chiiiiina!"

I'm guessing UPS knew my phone wasn't making that plane right from the get go, because I have Thursday as a projected delivery date.

join the club :)

Dont fret. We'll get it.

FYI its pointless, as our plane will be leaving at 5 am EST or so. So it'll be a while before theres anything new there.

Not to say I'm not just in case lol.

How do you know 5am ET? That's really weird, this is a 24/7 operation and the plane in chartered...

Kinda suck that you have to paid $10 extra to have it deliver on wed, because I did not pay $10 and I still get it on wed tohouston tx as well tmobile unlocked 16gb gold. I ordered it sametimes as you.

On the other hand 2-3 minutes after my order was placed I placed my dads order and he got 7-10 days ship   oh well he is in no rush like us I guess haha.

What sucks even more is that I paid $10 for expedited and it's expected Thursday for me. 1-(800)-MYAPPLE, expect me.

Thats when the first batch left.

I made this schedule. If you're waiting in china right now, this should apply. It's more or less the schedule the first batch followed, so within 30 minutes, it should be accurate, assuming it takes the same path, which would be logical.

(This is in EDT)

If that was true all of our packages would've left like 14 hours ago.

... which is why the first batch did? although longer then 14...

Looks like everyone got two Departure Scans. Anyone know what's up with that, and why the second one is so long after the Arrival Scan?

Hey, what if spammers had the balls to be stupid on forums! Can you imagine that?

origin scan is at the factory.
departed factory in china.
nice drive across town to airport (or whereever they're stored before they're put on the plane), arrival scan.
departure scan from china to korea.

So different place in same city.

And the 2nd departure is because they get to the airport a long time before the plane.

Thanks for the info sir! I've been using flightaware.com (and finding it hard to explain to some friends why I'm tracking planes in the middle of class), and it seems like the flight from Zhengzhou to Incheon isn't UPS... is it dispatched to another carrier or is it on Korean Air/China Air??

That flight I don't know the number, someone did say Korean Air though, so yeah, good work! :)

Gosh I need the dang thing to get here so I at least am messing with the phone, not stalking it.

I'm in Houston, which looks like has a directly flight from Zhengzhou based on the other thread. So I don't think that applies to me, but still cool that you put together a flight outline.

I don't think it does. I think you're referring to where you saw the screenshot of the guy who requested pickup at his location right?

It shows locations for events relevant to his shipment. Not necessarily that they are there. Pretty sure you're going the same route as everyone else.

Ugh that sucks. Oh well.

UPS had a press release posted in these forums elsewhere that had announced new service with 767 from zhengzhou to incheon. They don't publish their schedule so think that causes flightaware issues overseas (no direct atc feed).

Can't imagine they would or could put pallets of phones into 737s or A320s. For this kind of mass movement you want a cargo aircraft.

You sound like you know what you're talking about. I don't though haha.

What effect does what you said have on what I said? Not being smart-assy or anything, just want to understand!

It wouldn't be Korean Air, which is passenger service, not freight service.
