Yep, here I sit, Preparing for shipment, still showing next day delivery by tomorrow March 16.
Got upgraded to shipped this morning! Picked up from Ontario, Ca...MOVING ON UP!!!...To the shipped thread! Everyone elses should move by tonight
Mine still Preparing for Shipment, but I did try the Fedex reference number tracking and it worked! It shows they have received the initial tracking information.
If you go to Fedex.com and select Track>Track by Reference number. Enter you phone number (with no dashes) as the reference number and then country and shipping zip code you might find it.

Interesting, I tried this and got 3 tracking numbers...one "initiated" one "picked up" (from Nashville) and one "cancelled"
All had the same PO#.I am going to remain hopeful and follow the one that says "picked up"
As I was calling Apple this morning, to have them check my order, since it was still saying "Preparing for Shipment". FedEx finally had my tracking info. They must be watching me. lol.
First iPad shipped on the 10th and my second shipped on the 14th. I was freaking out about that second one not shipping or something.
I've read a bunch of posts by folks who called Apple and were told you will def get it on the 16th even if it's not marked as shipped today. Their system is pretty busy with updating order statuses online.

Same here! Mine shipped on the 12th, but my wife's shipped today (even though her's still says "prep for shipping" on apple's website.
Dont these threads come up EVERY time a new product is released. Your iPad will be delivered Friday, if not delivered Friday and the reason was not due to you not signing...then you can worry.
Well, I am not going to be home Friday, so I need the pre-sign form today, which I can't get until Apple updates my status to shipped. So yea, I am worrying a little bit...

I've called Apple a few times and they've said everything seems "fine". The only date I got was a "Ships by March 19" but you'd think I would have been past the Processing Items stage by now :/

Fantastic tip!!! I started getting nervous because I ordered 11AM 3/7 but its been stuck on "Preparing for shipment" the whole time. But I checked this and it left Mira Loma, CA yesterday so it should be here. The only problem now is the 3PM delivery time. I just don't want to wait that long.

The other ones is still stuck at "Processing items" (black iPad 16gb wifi) ordered the 11th at 5pm.

Ordered mine on the 10th. As of 8AM this morning, it said it would ship by the 19th but about an hour after it switched to Preparing for Shipment. Now, it just switched to shipped about 5 minutes ago.
I'm thinking some stock is being freed up.
