Student Discount at Best Buy?

Actually, I don't. I actually live in one of the three major cities in PR. But, there are no Apple stores in PR. Don't go stereotyping that easily.

he probably didnt read that you were in puerto rico. thinking that you were in america, no apple stores and the closest bestbuy is 2.5 hours away, it does seem like you live in the middle of nowhere.

heck im not even 2.5 miles away from the nearest bestbuy and im a quick 15 minute drive to the closest apple store.

Yeah, so before I called up the store itself I wanted to know if they actually honor the Apple student discount on the Macs. I'm somewhere in between a MBP 13" a MB or a Dell Inspiron i5. I start College in late september & I'm going crazy trying to decide what to do although I may not immediately need a laptop as soon as I start but they don't tell me anything. I'll probably find out at the orientation which is in early september. There are no Apple stores over here and buying online is not an option. There are only two stores: Best Buy & Modernica. Both stores are almost across from each other and are like 2-3 hours away from where I live. I don't want to end up losing a trip. Has anyone gotten the discount at Best Buy?

You can usually get stores to price match, I think you can get up to a $300 discount if you eschew the iPod Touch so you could get it down to $899, sounds like a good deal to me

i got the discount from bestbuy at my local bestbuy in canada, wat u do is ask them if they do it and say that apple is doing it. Bargain with them say that they can loose customer if they dont do this deal which i pretty much did and i got the deal .

I purchased my 13" MBP at best buy and they gave me a $100 discount. I do not know about the free iPod deal, because I did not purchase mine when that deal was valid.

here's what i did: i went to my local apple store and bought a giftcard worth the cost of my online purchase. then i went home and ordered it online using the apple giftcard code. worked perfectly.
