Anyone having any Leviton issues today? I have many Leviton switches, but today 4 of them just randomly quit working. Not just from homekit but even the physical switch functionality isn’t working.

I had that a few weeks ago. I think it was a bad firmware update process that killed it. Flipping the breaker off and waiting a bit and turning it back on do nothing. Hold reset button did nothing. Called them. They sent me a replacement free of charge. And an additional one because of the inconvenience.

I have two and after the last firmware, either or both are randomly showing as “No Response” in HomeKit and/or not working with the Leviton app. The physical switch still works so not the same issue as yours but an issue nonetheless. Frustrating as they are tied into a few scenes and automations. I been meaning to make a post about this.

I feel since the update 3 weeks ago I've had my Leviton switches and dimmers systematically become unresponsive.

Currently....

Power cycling the switch at the breaker seems to fix them.

I have about 25 of them and I've been very fortunate up until now with only having an issue once a year or so since I installed them. Hopefully its something related to the update and once I've reset each one they will continue to work.

Which update are you referring to? The Leviton firmware or iOS? They were around the same time I think.

The last iOS update on Jan 22 2020 coincides with my issues however that could be purely coincidence.

I updated the switches/dimmers firmware to 1.4.32 back in September. Seems like a stable build up until recently.

Ah ok. I just got the same Leviton firmware update a few weeks ago. Wonder why it took so long for mine to push.

Because the app is crap (IMO). They bundle firmware updates in with app updates. Its added to the update list and very easy to overlook.

If the firmware sent with the app is > your accessories the list will populate with accessories (items). Since they rarely push updates this method is far easier/cheaper then the app downloading firmware updates on its own. When the next update comes out all they will need to do is replace 1.4.32 in the app and re-upload the app to the app store.

As an update to this, I have 4 switches which I have been unable to update to the 1.4.32 firmware.
I had tried again to update these switches before the issue occurred.

I killed power to all the switches using the breaker, and they have started working again. However I am still unable to update the firmware.

Maybe delete the app from your phone for a day then reload it the next and see what happens. I know a pia but might be worth a shot...

This Leviton business is really irking me lately. Some work sometimes while others go “No Response” and then they flip flop. Today the Leviton app was showing none of my devices on both my iPhone and iPad.

Thinking of making a full switch to Lutron Caseta but I love those little green locator lights so much, the ability to change the color of the switch and the plain switch look of the Levitons.

Look at iDevices. They are pretty nice as well. And it has a nice little “night light” that isn’t really a nightlight but more of a finder light that you can color any color you want... and a very clean look imho. I have several and they just don’t have the issues...

Lutron ones are nice too though. Have some of those as well. I’ll never buy anything again that doesn’t work both HomeKit and Alexa though natively.

One absolutely great feature of the Levitons (at least the dimmers that I have) is ability to shut off power from the dimmer itself without messing with breakers or removing the dimmer or anything.

On the right side of the paddle is the manual adjustment for the dimming. This is also the way to remove power from the dimmer to get a quick reset. If you look at the bottom of that adjustment lever, there's an indent to stick a fingernail into, do so then gently pull the lever all the way out.

This removes power, wait a few seconds and put it back in. You'll see the status LED indicate that it's looking for WiFi again, and hopefully you're back in business once it establishes itself back on your network.

The iDevices are nice. Didn’t know you can change that light color. But holy crap at 80 bux a pop! Lol. To outfit my whole home and I’m OCD about everything matching and being consistent.

That’s cool. The Lutron has that feature too a little tab at the bottom of the switch.

I‘m so torn lol.

In general I've found the Levitons to be a bit prone to falling off the network - which, of course, results in the dreaded "No Response" as they're off somewhere else.

It's not a constant thing, which would hopefully get attention from Leviton or Apple, but every month or three a dimmer will need to be reset. Add enough of them to your set up and it becomes a noticeable thing.

Have had a reasonable amount of success by beefing up WiFi - and I've also gone a bit overboard and given each WiFi HomeKit device a dedicated IP address.

How have they been after assigning the IP addresses? I have an Eero Mesh with 6 Pro routers. The Levitons are the only devices giving me a headache and they are very close to the routers.

You have to just pay attention to the iDevices. They go on sale around half off or so fairly often, usually around holidays...

And yet I haven’t had that issue with any idevice or Lutron....that’s what annoys me so much about my Leviton.

Quick question... Do the iDevice switches use a standard paddle style wall plate or is proprietary? Thanks

I also like the C by GE switches and dimmers. Was hoping they’d have released HomeKit support by now. Thought that was announced.

Mine did something weird this weekend. I couldn't open the Leviton app at all, and while I don't use Homekit, Alexa wouldn't process my commands that had Leviton stuff as part of it. I think something was down for a bit at some point this weekend.

On Friday, I was able to open the app but none of my switches showed up in the app. Cleared up by Saturday tho

My Leviton switches have been fairly stable lately. I just checked my firmware and my dimmers are all 1.4.32 but my standard switches are still 1.4.13. Not sure what happened there. I had one switch drop off the network a couple of months back but I have been too lazy to add it back.

I am still on ios 12.3.1 I have been nervous to update to 13 because my homekit stuff is working pretty well right now.

For those having problems with Leviton, what version of iOS are you on?

iOS 13.3.1. But I noticed the switches got worse from Leviton updates. My switches are on 1.4.32. All my other HomeKit devices have been solid in 13.3.1 except for my two Leviton switches. Over 40 devices not including over 50 Hue bulbs connected across three Hue hubs and over 10 Aqara devices connected across two Aqara hubs.
