Didn't realize a second generation came out for these. I have 24 switches and only had trouble with 2 (technically 3) of the switches. The first one I think was user error when installing and not having a breaker off. Leviton sent me a replacement and that replacement has never worked right. Wouldn't upgrade firmware and has not been able to connect to network.

The other switch that failed stopped turning the lights off all together. No matter what you do to the switch it is always sending power to the fixture unless you flip the breaker or pull a wire. I have found the customer service pretty helpful in the past but I just haven't gotten around to contacting them about the latest issues. I will probably just buy a couple of 2nd gen replacements and then try to get warranty replacements later and use those in new locations.
They have a few new switches with the Gen 2 release but unfortunately are not supported by HomeKit. Off the top of my head, a fan controller is one and a nice vertically positioned four button switch which would look good as a scene controller. Don’t understand why the switch and dimmer would get HomeKit certification but the other two would not, unless they’re pending.

The 2nd gen switches paired with my phone much more quickly. That was way better experience than the first gen.

Very good to know. How about staying connected? That was my biggest issue with the 1st gen. Always dropping from the HomeKit and the network.

Well, for what it’s worth I’ve had good experiences with the first gen levitons. I see many complaints, but they have been very stable for me. I’m running a UniFi network at home tho.
I have 9 Leviton Gen 1 switches with no issues for a couple years. Funny, that my home is all Unifi (gateway/switches/AP) like @kylew1212. I have 2 AP un my home. I installed a Gen 2 light switch this week, and 50% of the time it is "No Response". I deleted the device from the "My Leviton" app, removed it from HomeKit app, and reset the switch. Then reinstalled the Gen 2 switch JUST on HomeKit, powered down the switch. About 20% of the time is shows "No Response", which is an improvement. I think using that "My Leviton" app creates a conflict with the Gen 2 switches on HomeKit. Note all of my Gen 1 switches run on the old "Leviton" app and HomeKit fine. Summary Gen 2 switches appear to have the same issue the Gen 1 switches had under old firmware.

** Any one else seeing similar Gen 2 issues?

More recently I’ve noticed that the levitons are crap with reconnecting.

basically if they try to connect and the network isn’t there then it’s up using the air.

I have a UniFi network which was on a ups battery backup. Recently my ups has been out and I have not yet replaced it. My power flashed yesterday, which killed the network and all switches needed to reconnect. 4 Levitons didn’t reconnect.

Before the network would’ve been online and things would’ve reconnected.
