My iPhone 7+ has been getting much worse battery life over the past few days, and I’m not sure why. I used to get 7-9 hours of screen-on time easily, and now I’m getting maybe 5-6 at most. It’s draining percentage much quicker than it used to. My usage has not changed at all. I’m thinking iOS 11.2.2 might be the culprit, as the problem seems to have come about around the same time, but I’m not sure why that would cause the problem since it was only released to fix the security vulnerability. I upgraded to the 11.2.5 beta to see if that would help, but it didn’t. Any advice?

Quick question, did you check your power usage stats? There should be a power drain in the last 24 hours from any app for such battery life decrease to happen.

Yes, nothing is unreasonably higher than it should be or compared to any other apps.

Every once in a while it's worth checking all the settings that affect the battery life, such as which apps have "Background Refresh" enabled or Location Services enabled or notifications - turning any of these off or limiting them saves the battery.

I do this every "once in a while" and take 15 min to go through all the app settings.

For example I have Google maps - but use apple maps more often - so I turn off background app refresh and cellular data and have location set to "While using" - the odd time that I might use google maps I will have to remember to turn on cellular data.

These settings seem to get turned back on somehow over time and it's worth the effort to go over the settings and double check them once in a while, especially after a major update.

I too am getting crappy battery life on my months old iPhone 8+ after updating to iOS 11.2.2. My device has suddenly started using more power while in my pocket. I’d have to charge by midday. That’s with usual apps battery optimization & very little in hand use. Hopefully enough of us complain to apple so they can resolve this issue before or by next update
