So you are saying that you would pay almost an extra $100US ($170AUD) to receive an iPod of 20GB less capacity.
If you are that blind then my quote does have merit. Even if I had a mac, I would sill buy the Nomad because IT'S A BETTER PRODUCT, even though it may be an iPod rip-off.

Another thing Creative are hands down the BEST computer audio manufacturer, so I'd watch what you say about "Crappy” PC counterparts. You also might want to check out this website www.pricewatch.com and see just how much apple are boosting no specific hardware prices.

i didnt read any of the other posts so i hoope that this isnt redundant.
i have a 30 gig. i am currently only using aroudn 10-15 gigs of it. but i just wanted to say that the dock is definately worth it. at leastin in my case.
i use my ipod as a 400 disc cd changer replacement.
i put my changer, along with my stereo cabinet int he close and use the ipod on the dock to connect to my receiver.
its a beautiful thing.

Remember apple has large overheads and people who use apples blindly rarely look elsewhere for competitive products, hence they jack the prices.

40GB iPod $499 (www.apple.com)
60GB Creative Nomad $408 (www.compuplus.com)
(prices in USD)

I'll let your pocket decide

That thing is huge! Many people blindly disregard Apple because of the price. There are other features the iPod has that the Nomad does not, and basing your purchase on price alone is not the best way to make a decision. What if I want to buy songs from iTMS, sync my calanders, fit the thing in my pocket,....

Have you checked the specs

A diary is better suited to calender jobs, and you say huge? the dimensions of the nomad are
3" x 4.4" x 0.86" taken from http://www.nomadworld.com/products/Jukebox_ZenXtra/specs.asp
The iPods dimensions are
2.4" x 4.1" x 0.62 taken from www.apple.com

So yes the newer iPods are smaller than the 60GB Nomad but not by much. So for the extra $91 and 20GB less space you can have something that is only a little bit smaller. If buying apple means that much to you be my guest but I always look for the best product on the market.

you also mention buying songs from iTMS, well if I want to buy music I go to a CD store and if I want to download it, I do it for Free.
