Summerboard for 1.1.3

i hear this is because the theme was 'hardcoded' with a certain path. . .and with the new summerboard the path for themes has changed. you can either move them. . .or you just wait for the theme to be update via installer.

The old theme location was - - /private/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/Themes

The new location - - /private/var/mobile/SummerBoard/Themes

Just SSH into your Touch and move the Themes to the new location and restart.

i have problem even installing summerboard 3.1-1.

it keeps giving me an Error message.

Can anybody help me with this?

Ssh?

this is probably a dumb question, but I'm new to this.
What does it mean to SSH into your itouch?

Not dumb. You need Transmit or Cyberduck for a Mac. I do not do windows, you log into your Touch using its ip address - Settings Wi-Fi - Hit the blue arrow - ip address.

Type this in - user is root - passwd is alpine. Be careful.

I am still on 1.1.2, is it worth updating or should i stay on version 3.0?

Also

I can see the summerboard 3.1-1 in the recent packages section of installer but it doesn't show as an update? Should i uninstall the previous version before installing the new one?

I would leave it alone for now. If yours works on 1.1.2, leave it alone. People on 1.1.3 with other jailbreaks are having problems.

The dev jailbreak seems to work the best if you decide. Just remember to download BSD subsystem 2.0 and open SSH. Also, upgrade to the latest installer if upgrading to 1.1.3

I'm running on windows. What program do I need to use?

Thanks,

I dont intend on updating to 1.1.3 at the moment until the madness settles.

As for BSD and openSSH, these have to be installed BEFORE updating to 1.1.3 (via jailbreak). I had read this but its always good having something confirmed.

Use MIM

how do you change the name of the ipod?
i see ur pod is called damion instead of ipod.
please ellaborate. :)

I use the app called Make it Mine by Erica S. You can find it on installer, I don't know what category, but I think you might just have to go to ALL, to find it. Just go Straight to M, install and change away, and the nice thing is, you can revert it

hmms installed it but still see ipod:(?
app doesn't seem to work on my jb 1.1.3.

Use Ssh

SSH into your ipod, go to /Applications and change open the MIM folder, highlight all its contents, and change permissions to 0755. Then Highlight the folder itself, right click and chose properties. Then check the box at the bottom that starts with " Set....." I don't remember what the what the rest is. But that does it all the time for me. Just because u installed doesnt guarantee it will work, for most of my apps on JB 1.1.3 I had to do this to give them their full permissions

thnx guys got it working!
got the neweset version but that one failed with only white screen. but then changed permmissions to 0755 and works fine now.

both thnx

No theme changes seem to be taking effect. I've tried restarting and checking that the folder is in the correct place.

When I open SMBPrefs, I am noticing that at the bottom it says "SMBPrefs 3.1 Summerboard 3.1 (Inactive)"

Should it say inactive?

It opens and functions, but no name change. No joy here.

EDIT: Went to Erica's site. Downloaded MIM v.03. The installer MIM is still at .01 on mine. Now there is joy.

What jb did you use? It only works with dev jb.

Reboot your ipod, turn it off, and then turn it back on, it should switch to active.

that didn't work for me still says inactive

EDIT:

found this on the net

UPDATE: After some straw polling, it would appear as though the ones effected are those who used ipodtouchmaster’s all-in-one jailbreak method. The solution that has worked so far is to do the whole jailbreak process all over again and use the official Dev Team GUI 1.1.3 jailbreak method.

looks like I have to re-jailbreak with dev teams jailbreak................ *sigh*
