Come on Canada

Hey Apple, We're just across the border. We even speak the same language (OK most of us). How about doing something up here with Apple Pay? I haven't even run across any articles about you talking to banks or stores up here yet. Just a few vague references on the CBC about "sometime next year, maybe".

Do we really need a post on MacRumors for every business that starts using Apple Pay especially as this news only really interests US visitors and there are a lot of international visitors to this site. Maybe these should be on the Blog or Page 2.

Would be nice if the news was about rumours and interesting Apple news.

Why the hell not?

Are you really complaining about them informing you? I can assure you that the number of people on this site who care about what stores in their area are now supporting Apple Pay outnumber the ones that don't. If you don't like the article, keep scrolling. It should literally that simple, but for some reason it isn't, because clicking just to comment useless **** like this doesn't help you ignore it, and isn't going to make them stop posting it.

Do you think I care about GT Advanced's bankruptcy hearing? **** no.

Am I going to scroll down, click, and type some paragraph about how its frustrating to extend my finger for an additional second to scroll past the story?

Yes. Until MCX cabal breaks down and Walmart accepts Apple Pay, we will have "this store now accepts Apple Pay" stories. And I am sure the international vistiors know how to ignore anything they don't care to read about, so why should I censure what I care to read about?

Glad that Albertsons is on board. Now they just need to replace their ancient POS terminals. Hopefully Safeway will be there soon too.

I definitely find these interesting. Before posting, you would do well to remember that there are millions of MR readers besides yourself, and that many of them are more interested in certain aspects of what Apple does than you are.

(Is millions right? I'm not really sure.)

Can't wait to try this at Shaws! It would be nice to see Apple Pay show up in the Redbox, too.

Wait, Shaws is supported? I did not know this.

It helps to document and illustrate just how quickly :apple:Pay is taking foothold, unlike the failed attempt by Google Wallet to establish contactless payments.

I think it's bazillions.

(I want to throw a Bazinga! in there too...)

This is great news for everyone. Ive been a long time Apple User, but I can also see Google Wallet benefiting from all this as well. At least these businesses are moving forward, and not not backwards (like Walmart, Best Buy, etc...). Keep the new Apple Pay locations coming.

Yup, agreed. And apparently, we were ahead of the vast majority of the US in terms of chip-and-pin and contactless payment infrastructure. All of our banks mandate chip-and-pin cards now and have for a couple of years. My stripe-only prepaid credit cards feel outdated next to my debit cards. :p

Turn off the polar vortex and we can talk :p

While I appreciate your concern, this is big here in the US. We have competing systems, and, well :apple:Pay is the one that most of us are cheering for.

I do hope that the rest of the world, especially the Canada, UK, NZ, and Australia get it next.

Would be useful if anyone heard of and BI-LO, Winn-Dixie, Harveys Grocery Stores

Fun fact: I worked at a Harvey's in high school. They're found in lots and lots of small towns in the south, and they're normally in lower-income areas. They were also more expensive in some cases, and a large portion of the customers where I worked used their food stamps and WIC vouchers. I don't know if that's the case for most Harvey's stores, but it was true for the few that I knew about.

I'm surprised that these three are all on board with Apple Pay; it'd be great if a place like Publix moved to Apple Pay, because I can guarantee you that a Publix customer isn't going to go to a BiLo, Harvey's, or Winn-Dixie just to use their iPhones to buy something.
