Super Stickman Golf 3+ and Super Leap Day Coming to Apple Arcade

I would never play pc or console games on my phone. Not because of performance or graphics but because games made for consoles are not idea on a phone. I’m not lugging a controller with me when I leave the house, and by the time my PS5 game loads I would already be done playing on my phone.
It will be as popular as rob the robot or the super scope.
LOVE the Rob and Super scope reference. :)

I think Xcloud is a glimpse of the future. Stadia was ahead of its time, and it flopped because it was a half-arse side project Google didn't heavily invest in longterm. I imagine they'll revamp it in a few years when faster internet is more ubiquitous. Phone and tablet aren't interesting to folks like us, but I've seen a lot of younger folks (who wouldn't get your Rob reference) gaming on tablets and phones with controllers. The main thing I'm interested in is playing a game on a TV and moving said game to my laptop and resuming. Gamepass/Xcloud is heading that direction. I'd like to see what Apple could do in that space or, even what they could do with physical controls... Just a thought. It'll be YEARS before Apple does anything like this, and it may never happen, but it's fun to hypothesize and guess at if/when/how they'll ever dip their toes any deeper beyond the current AA offerings.

Why would I want Apple to go all in on improving Apple Arcade? Two main reasons: ecosystem and wanting to cut the cord on PC gaming on Windows. As I mentioned, I game on all the major platforms, and Apple's ecosystem is not one of them. I would love to start a game on my TV, switch to my laptop, have the option of resuming on my phone or tablet... essentially what XCloud is meant to do (but I have to use Windows...). Also, after this 2019 16" MBP dies, I'll have to look into a PC for PC gaming. It would be nice if Apple would take AA to the next level because it likely means they're taking Mac gaming seriously. I know, the PC market/development blah blah blah. The only way that changes is if Apple goes all in on a gaming service.
Understood. I agree that Apple could bring a level of consistency and simplicity to a game streaming service, if only for the fact that they KNOW the components in every device that would ever use it and can tailor it only to the ones that meet the performance/network requirements (instead of a service that’s designed to work across a wide unknown variety of devices).

I’d think it would be separate from Arcade as that service is a simple download-and-use service and there will always be folks that prefer the convenience of a game that’s always there even if you’re in an area with poor network connectivity.

All great points! Here’s hoping they go in that direction at some point. I mean, they’re in the business of tech, but also, they sell entertainment. Apple Music, Arcade, TV+. I’m pretty sure the video game industry makes more than the other two combined (or at least the movie/tv industry). If I’m at the top of Apple, I’m looking at that as a market worth at least investigating. I’m playing out the hypothetical here, but what if they bought up a bunch of smaller studios, or even something huge like EA? That’s what “the Big Three” are doing and have been doing for years. Just some thoughts. I’m guessing I’ll likely have to bite the bullet in a few years and just get a gaming PC. Sigh. First world problems to the 10th power: “I don’t want to have to purchase TWO laptops with all this expendable income.” Still, it’s fun to hypothesize with fellow techies online. Cheers! :)
