It's been awhile since I've read the comics, but I don't remember him ever having a kid.

Lois and Clark are married in at least one of the many revisions of the story of Superman; there have been many changes to the continuity over the years, so I don't know if they're married in the current storyline. One presumes that the married Lois and Clark "got down". ;)

I figured it was something along those lines. I'm content with the movies.

I've never needed more than what I got from them, to the point where I went out and got some Superman comics. Especially the last film - good stuff, that.

I guess I'm the only one here that hated this movie. The writing was super bad and the action scenes weren't even as good as Nacho Libre. My favorite part of the movie was the titles to Lois Lane's articles. Hilarious.

The only superhero comic movie I would be interested in seeing now, besides Nolan's next Batman, is The Saga of The Swamp Thing(the Alan Moore story arc).

I don't know why not a single solider was sent to fight Lex. If that happened today, you would see the Navy send a fleet of ships along with bombers from the Air Force. This story had too many holes. Loved the movie but hated the story.

Glad to see some differing opinions on the movie - it always helps keep things interesting. And, it also helps keep the Superman fanatics who will blindly love this film no matter how good or bad it is, in perspective. ;) :D

I saw it this weekend and enjoyed it quite a bit; however, a lot of my enjoyment was probably nostalgia. I was 10 when Superman I came out, and the use of the same music and production design made me feel like a kid again. The effects looked flawless to me. I thought the Lois Lane actress looked about 19; she couldn't pull off Margot Kidder-- however, Routh was very good. He was almost channeling Reeve. I think the movie will do well, but Pirates of the Caribbean II will kill it at the box office.

i thought superman returns was great. its gets little campy in places and the ending kinda fizzled for me but over all it was very entertaining.

the opening title sequence with destruction of Krypton and all the visions of different planets and galaxies was fantastic. it blew me away.

Just saw it. Very good. I didn't care for the Cyclops, err Richard, and Kent rivalry. They could have written his part out to tighten things up.

I was mildly amused to see that after all the fights, flying, and crashing, Supermans spit-curl remains intact. He must have super hair.

I really, really enjoyed the movie.

One question though, did Superman ever have a kid in the comics, or did Brian Singer and co. pull that one totally out of left field?

For that matter, did Superman and Louis Lane ever get down?
Superman and Lois did have a night together in the Fortress of Solitude after he gave up his powers in Superman II. I'm guessing that's where the kid came from. Of course, if that's the case, why did the kid have powers if Superman didn't have them at the time?

As for the movie, I really liked it. I don't get how people say the movie was light on action, when Superman I really doesn't have anything close to action until the helicopter scene well over an hour into the film (unless you count the destruction of Krypton). Besides, I think the main focus was on the characters, not the action, which I think is a good thing, and quite rare anymore.

The only thing that I didn't like was the joke about the dog towards the beginning. I thought that was VERY unnecessary.

Wow- unbelievably dreadful. I'm really disappointed. Brian Singer is so much better than this. The casting was horribly bad. Kate Bosworth? Yawn...no chemistry with Brandon whatsoever. And Brandon...well gee why not just resurrect Christopher Reeve sans emotion? Should have been easy, they did it with Marlon Brando. ;)

I'm really disappointed. Singer should have stayed with X3. That way, we only would have had one bad film. Now we have two. A shame- I really wanted this to be good.
